Madonna: I am living in Malawi and I am a material girl
Madonna may have lost the legal battle, but she still believes she can win the war.
A Malawi court rejected Madonna's bid to adopt 3-year-old Mercy James last week, because the pop singer had not lived in Malawi for the required 18 months.
The requirement was waived when Madonna adopted her son David Banda from the region, according to CNN. "The decision came down to residency requirement and the fact that the judge believes [Mercy James] was being well taken care of in the orphanage," Zione Ntaba, a spokeswoman for the Malawi Justice Department, told CNN.
So, according to the Sun, Madonna is now doing what any of us would do in her situation: building a home in Malawi, of course. Oh yeah, and a school.
And Malawi is not the only other county where Madonna is lending a hand. She reportedly donated half a mil to Italy too, for earthquake relief. Madonna's paternal grandparents hail from the region.
"I am happy to lend a helping hand to the town that my ancestors are from," Madonna said in a statement. "My heart goes out to the families that have lost loved ones or their homes."

Good Riddance! I hope the High Priestess of Ancient Crotches moves far, far away. And before Grandma leaves, she needs to bleach those dark roots.
First Madonna earns around $500 million a year. She couldn't have donated at least $50 million to the earthquake stricken town in Italy? Oh but I guess hording money is better. I just don't think she is a saint for donating such a small amount. And after her bid for adoption failed in Malawi why didn't she just go to Ethiopia or some other country in Africa? Stupid Woman.
And how much money have any of your given to help the earthquake victims in Italy? Madonna even gave more than the U.S. government. Maybe people should start writing hateful comments about you since you are all perfect and have done so much to help people in need.
