Kim Kardashian to US Weekly: 'I am a size 2, not 2XL'
Kim Kardashian is often celebrated for her generous curves, and she's OK with that, but the reality star wants to make one thing clear: She is not plus-size.
The object of her furor? An US Weekly article, entitled "Forever 21's Plus-Size Line," which reads, "Here's a little faith for fuller-figured fashionistas: On May 1, they can try on a new plus-size line, Faith 21, from hip bargain chain Forever 21 (Kim Kardashian is a fan)."
The article featured two photos of the garments -- sized XL to 2XL -- alongside a photo of Kardashian.
The curvaceous reality star was more than a little miffed by the clipping and took to her website to vent, in an open letter entitled, "Dear Us Weekly, I Love 'Forever 21', But..."
Here's Kim's letter:
I am a huge fan of Forever 21 and I'm very happy they have expanded their line to include a plus-size range, but I am not in that size category and this article makes it sound like I am! I am a curvy girl and I love my curves, but curvy and plus-sized are two very different things. I work really hard to maintain my curves while staying slim and healthy, so to be classed as a "fuller-figured woman" of extra large proportions is a little offensive.
For the record, I am a size 2, not 2XL.
Do you think Kim was right to be offended? Or was she getting her size 2 frame worked up over nothing?

sees like she was trying not to offend anyone but it sort of gave off that being plus sized is a bad thing.
I think it's MORE than a little offensive for Kim to imply that "fuller-figured" women are unhealthy.
Did this article really warrant a response from Kim? Perhaps she needs something of more import to occupy her time.
Of course I could say the same of myself for posting a comment. Ah, well.
I completely understand why Kim is pissed! She does work hard to maintain her body, it is clear from watching the show she still has insecurities about her figure yet still has the guts to show it off. She is the first curvy girl in Hollywood in a long time, the past few years the tabs have been anorexia ridden with people like Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan. Kim is the first REAL looking girl in a long time! I think it would be detrimental to not only her self-esteem but to the thousands of girls who look up to Kim to classify her as plus sized because the term "plus sized" has such negative connotations in America. If anything Kim uses her curves to help girls embrace their bodies rather than scrutinized themselves to be stick skinny. To call Kim plus sized when she is clearly not is giving young women all over America the wrong idea about what is "plus sized", therefore damaging their self-images even more so than before.
