Jamie Foxx apologizes to Miley Cyrus: 'I didn't mean it maliciously'

Jamie Foxx apologized Tuesday night on "The Tonight Show" for the rude remarks he made about Miley Cyrus on his Sirius radio show, "The Foxxhole," last weekend.

First, Foxx came armed with a bottle of Cristal to give to Jay Leno. Then he did a comedy routine about his pal P. Diddy and his treacherous birthday plane ride and accepted congrats for his song, "Blame it on the Alcohol," being the No. 1 song.

Then he does a few minutes of the song, which is about all the things -- including sleeping with people you don't know -- that you do when you're drunk. Hey, maybe that was behind the Miley Cyrus remarks

After Leno asked him about the controversial remarks, Foxx delivered this mea culpa.

"I so apologize, and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don't mean any of it. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.

"I have a radio show.... We're really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn't mean it maliciously. You know I'm a comedian. You know my heart.

"Miley, I apologize, so I'll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."

We can't excerpt his actual words here. But he and his radio pals -- after talking about Miley dissing Radiohead for not wanting to meet her -- made fun of Miley's gums, told her to "make a sex tape and grow up," do heroin, smoke crack and get a sexually transmitted disease from a bicycle seat. And we paraphrase.

BTW, notice that Foxx took much more time to talk about his Oscar-buzzed film, "The Soloist," and his role as a real-life schizophrenic musician, than he did to apologize to Miley.

Jamie, if I made a racist remark that hurt your daughter would you be so eager to accept my apology??? I'd have NAACP, Sharpton, etc. on my back! You should do more than just offer some lame excuse on late night TV. You owe Miley and her dad a face to face apology. Save your slander for adults who deserve it!

trying to be hip, Imus made a single sentence comment about a women's athetic team and was tossed out of the entertainment business.

This foul-mouthed pseudo comedian ranted profanely for a half hour using terms that ought to get him convicted of being a sexual predator and he will get laughs and winks from his and Leno's audience. This deviant desribed in graphic detail physical and drug-related actions he would take on a 16 year old minor.

If her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, came after Foxx it would be ruled justifiable homicide. Hey, save the double standard in reporting for politics -- anyone who ever again employs this jerk should be hauled in for aiding and abetting a criminal.

I saw the apology; it did not seem sincere.

Foxx needs to understand just what jturner said: no more double standards!

Foxx, would you stand for your teen daugher to be attacked by Miley's father? I very much doubt it. As an aside, I am not a fan of either Cyrus; I am simply a concerned parent who has had enough!

um ... didn't some white "comedians" lose jobs & fans over just this kind of thing (only they didn't attack minor children)?

He deserves an Oscar for the acting job he did on that so called apology. He blamed it on the fact that he is a comedian. He apologized as a comedian, not a person. He also lied. He said the the audio was only part of it. The audio was all of it. He turned the whole apology into a joke. Everyone should reject it because it was insincere dribble.

I really think his apology was sincere. It seems he really felt bad and regretted what he said. I thought he had just said it out of the blue or something but if it was from his radio show then it's pretty dumb how it was blown so out of line. This whole argument/confusion should just be forgotten.

It's seems that this site is dedicated to bringing Mr. Foxx down. No matter if he apologizes or not. Let it go, it's wasn't racial. He apologized, if she accepts along with her father good deal.

Now maybe we can move on to the next thing/person to bash.

Where is Jesse Jackson!??? Where is Al Sharpton? Why aren't they rallying a mass protest against racist remarks? One of those people called Miley a "little white *****". So how come it is ok for a black person to say things like that and get away with it!? Where are you Jesse? Where are you Sharpton?

1. Miley Cyrus is a minor

2. Miley Cyrus is white

3. Jamie Foxx is a black man

So, being black apparently gives one license to say whatever they want about anybody. This must be a true statement since white comedians/radio hosts have been fired, black listed, fined, impaled by the main stream media, etc. Jamie Foxx suffers no such humiliation. He has a teenage daughter? This is supposed to make the apology palatable? What it does is reveal his contempt for women. Can you imagine if Billy Ray Cyrus said something about Jamie Foxx's daughter(s). The backlash would be so bad Miley would probably never be in front of a camera again. I don't know what the solution is but the scenario was distateful. Jamie Foxx is now on my list of don't see actors with Tom Cruise.

Jamie Foxx has bucked teeth and has no class. He is the most insecure entertainer in the business. I wonder how his gal pal Oprah feels about his inexcusable behavior?

I will never watch another movie you make. And I was really looking forward to your new movie. You are a total pig. How dare you say what you did about a 16 year old girl. How completely discusting are you!!
