Tom Bergeron's anger-management: The 'Dancing with the Stars' host on his hotheaded past
He may look eerily calm on "Dancing With the Stars" -- remember the gallant way he handled Marie Osmond's sudden fainting spell? -- but uber-host Tom Bergeron wasn't always so serene. In his early 20s, Bergeron told ABC News, "I just had a really short fuse, and it would never go off at other people, but mostly at myself or apartment walls." Although "apartment walls," not people, got the brunt of his anger, Bergeron knew a change was in order. Today, he told ABC, producers often find him meditating in his room when they bust in "with news of the latest spray-tan meltdown."
In his new autobiography, "I'm Hosting as Fast as I Can! Zen and the Art of Staying Sane in Hollywood," the famed host details his journey from self-proclaimed "hothead" to zen master, mostly through meditation and a commitment to staying in the moment.
Bergeron has plenty of wisdom to impart; not just about anger-management, but also about the industry at large. After all, he has been in the business since he was 17, hosting shows like "Hollywood Squares" and "America's Funniest Home Videos." You can read an excerpt of Bergeron's book on the ABC website.

I wonder if his new state of zen kept him from objecting before his comment on America's Funniest Home Videos (AFV) that offering a baby a $20 bill to walk was "teaching him to be Republican"? How funny it is to insult half of America.
I 7 all my friends our furiouse with the show, & might think about not watching it any more, all I hear is people stating that each year you put some one that can just about dance on the floor & they last about three to four weeks while great talent goes off & this is not a program for oh wherent they good in there day or like Buss who even the television where commentig on how Channing was robbed, are you kidding me, her and Shannon could DANCE rings around buzz, I am ashand of your choice & i agree buzz is a great person, but dancer is not fair & you all are the problem this is a dance contect & not a popularity show, Z& if you want a popularty program do one. I am totally upset & as stated everyone I know agrees what is you proble, to ask these peopls to come on your show & they treat them like crap is totalliey unexceptable, from now on I think id you play these dirty games you need to let the gudges send home the first two shows & then let the people vote. this is unfair & after tonight if this happens again, my friend will not watch your show, you sound like congress donb't you listen to the people
I WANT A RESPONCE FROM YOU & I want to contact some managers.

you should be ashamed of yourselves for letting everything about your show be only about Bristol. She is not the queenof the universe, and she can't dance.
THIS IS TRULY POLITICAL. YOU ARE NOT BE FAIR TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED SO HARD ON THIS SHOW.
