Donald Trump on Carrie Prejean's gay view: Either way, 'she was going to get killed.'

DonaldTrum_GNa_56605599_600 Donald Trump is speaking out about the controversy in his Miss USA pageant.

When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California Carrie Prejean said, "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Many people -- including Carrie -- feel that her answer lost her the crown. But on Fox News, Trump disagreed, congratulating winner Kristen Dalton, Miss North Carolina.

"I am very honored that she won," Trump told Fox News. "She really did a fantastic job. ... She was doing well on every single card and she really did answer also a very, very tough question very well."

But Trump defended Prejean too.  "Miss California has done a wonderful job, that was her belief. ... It wasn't a bad answer, that was simply her belief."

Trump said that Prejean's question was "a bit unlucky," arguing that no matter how she answered the question "she was going to get killed."

Was Carrie damned if she did and damned if she didn't?

No he is so wrong she didn't win because of the answer she gave. Miss California I'm supporting you thank you for taking a stand, even if you didn't win a earthly crown you have a heavenly crown that will last forever.

I think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That is what this country was based on----freedom of speech. So she doesn't agree with same sex marriage--neither do I. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it and should not be persecuted for it. Neither should she. I guess it's okay to have an opinion as long as it agrees with the person asking the question!! There's fair for you!!

Okay Sara, I'll bite. I despise religion. I think its all a mess of mumbo-jumbo stone age idol worship. There isn't a shread of evidence to support ANY of the world's major religions. I think they should all be banned as subversive to logical thought. All of the world's problems can be laid at the feet of illogical belief systems. Millions owe their early demise to religious intolerance. But what the heck? Its just my opinion and I'm entitled to it, right?

Yes Calvin, all the world's problems can be laid at the feet of illogical belief systems. These include liberalism, socialism, progressiveism, atheism, and a society of permissiveness (legalization of drugs, abortion, divorce, pornography, etc.) that degrades personal responsibility to promote social ills. What a world in which to live!

We owe Carrie Prejean an enormous debt of gratitude for speaking her mind. If the Pageant really isn't interested in their contestant's opinions, stop asking them the questions. There is no wrong or right answer, it's just an opinion. You don't see me jumping on Perez Hilton's website bashing him for his opinions. I have a brother and a sister who are both gay, yet, I support Carrie's opinion on marriage. Go figure. I'm glad that she framed her opinion as not being politically correct (PC). I pray to God that thus marks the beginning of the end of the PC era. If we are living in a country where you are not allowed to speak your mind, I want out. If Mr. Hilton has the freedom to state his opinion, so does Carrie Prejean. To all out there listening, let us never be afraid to State Our Opinions, openly and honestly... Speak up for what you believe... Our Freedom is at stake.

I won't say if I agree with Miss Prejean as to avoid any arguements. But opinions are just that. Opinions. If I say that I prefer chocolate ice cream over vanilla, will I risk being alienated by all of you vanilla ice cream lovers?

How's this sound? "I don't think white people should be allowed to marry black people.. no offense to anyone, that's just the way I was raised." State your opinion all you like, but know that if the above is your opinion, you are a racist. A form of hate based on fear. If you would deny someone the right to marry the person they love because the person they love happens to be the same sex, then you are a homophobe. A form of hate. It's that simple. Own it. Then spout off all you like.

Phil, with your kind of logic, you condemn anyone that has any opinion whatsoever to be a hater.

If you do not believe in God, then you are a theophobe. A form of hate. It's that simple. Own it. Then spout off all you like.
