Carrie Prejean's granny slams Perez Hilton: 'He should be judging a Chippendale's contest.'

PerezHilto_Giffo_57224352_600 Miss California Carrie Prejean's grandmother is madder than a wet hornet at Perez Hilton.

Prejean's grandmother, Jeanette Coppola, who lives in a mobile home near San Diego, has some choice words for the openly gay celeb blogger who called her daughter an insulting name that starts with a "b."

She told RadarOnline.com, "I don't know why that gay guy Perez was even judging a contest with a bunch of girls. That doesn't make any sense. He should be judging a Chippendale's contest."

Snap!

Perez Hilton has now fired back at Carrie's granny's comments. And he's all for the Chippendale idea.

He says, "Dear Jeanette, I was judging that contest because I am an American. I am a gay American. I am a Latino American. And I am an American who knows a thing or two about women in the spotlight.

"I know it's not to your liking, but the judging panel was filled with a lot of diversity: men, women, gay, straight, black and white. We all decided that your granddaughter was not the best candidate for Miss USA.

"I am praying for her and for you, Jeanette. Next time you go to Chippendale's, give me a call!"

Who are we rooting for this war of words, the granny or the gay dude? Frankly, we think Jeanette could take Perez with one hand tied behind her back.

I find it amusingly disgusting that Perez' would resspond with the comment that he is an American. It amazes me that after he made it clear that he has certain Alerican rights, but others of us do not. While he maybe had a right to judge this contest, he had no right to ask this question as we all have a right to our own opinions about the subject, but his attitude and actions are a big reason that people are so unwilling to accept their choice or allow them any rights. Maybe if people were more like Ellen saying this is me and leave at that instead of shoving it down people's throats and telling everyone that we have to accept them, maybe they would not be so disgusting to the rest of the world.

Dear Elizabeth,
I love your blog and read it daily. But rooting for a homophobic grandma? Really.
The whole Chippendale's comment is offensive in itself.
As if gay men can only judge other men, because really, we only think about sex. All the time.

Seriously, do you expect friends and family of Carrie Prejean to NOT say anything? Hilton's comment were vile and if the "B" and "C' words were dropped on, say, Nancy Pelosi, the person hurling the insults would be vilified. A decent person should be able to register their displeasure without resorting to name-calling. I'm amazed that few people in the press are addressing how devoid of class Perez's comments were. I guess he's trying to fill the void left by Andrew Dice Clay.

I'M A GAY MAN WHO IS SO EMBARRASED BY A MAN WHO IS NOTHING MORE THAN A COWARD. I UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE HAVE MISGIVINGS ABOUT GAYS. DON'T TELL ME I'M SELF-LOATHING. I LOVE MYSELF AND AM PROUD OF WHO I AM. I AM A MATURE MAN. THIS NASTY QUEEN HAS A SNOT-NOSE SNICKER. AGAIN, YOU'RE A COWARD

This 'man' seems to be totally worthless. That he has any impact on our culture is a sad state of affairs. I'm all for gay rights and for the rights of same-sex couples. I believe that his over-the-top bi*chiness hurts the cause especially among Americans who are on the fence.

Amazing. This is a beauty paegant, not a political arena. Perez Hilton had no right in asking that question of Carrie Prejean. Ms. Prejean, like Perez is welcome to their individual moral views and he should have respected her rights too! Now he's bleeping off at her grandmother too....what a baby. Tell that baby to grown up and become a more responsible American citizen. Then maybe people will listen to him with more respect.

My highest regards to Carrie for standing up for her beliefs even knowing it would cost her her dream. I was shocked at the politicalness of the questions and are even more shocked that a person is punished for expressing her opinion when asked. Why is it that only some are allowed to share their opinion and others are not . I'm sure Carrie will be honored by the one who really counts, and she has my total respect. She has a bright future far above and beyond anything she could ever hope or dream of. Thank you Carrie

It is too bad that she was not chosen. Carrie expressed her opinion to the question and that should have been the end to it. Gay people should not even be seen much less heard. Our society as a whole disagree with such behavior. As Carrie states we were raised to accept marriage between a man and women to be the only way!

I thought that one of the things that a Miss America should have would be honesty. Doesn't that apply as one of the things young girls should strife for but it just shows that if you are honest, you lose.

P. Hilton should receive the full scrutiny of all interested Americans for:

1- Using the "b.... word", the "c....", and stating if Miss Ca. had won ... "I would have ripped the Crown off her head..."

2-Using his position as a pageant judge to penalize Miss Ca. (fair assumption that he gave her a "0" score) for answering his question with personal honesty and integrity... not the politically correct answer he anticipated.

As a result, I would think that his actions confirm his agenda and the fact that he is not a positive representative of the gay community!
