Not meny years ago it would have been the opposite. The scandal would have been if someone dared to say that same sex marriage was right. What a deceptive PSA. Gay marriage proponents aren't trying to "silence" anyone; on the contrary, they encourage healthy debate. They want to know the other side's arguments, because they don't understand them. I'm still waiting for someone to explain what they're trying to "protect marriage" from. If a gay couple is allowed to marry, they'll gain real, tangible rights; that part I understand. But apparently straight married people like myself will lose something in the process. What will I lose? How will my marriage be different?

She was chosen to represent all of California not just the parts she agrees with. It is specifically written into her contract that she cannot be a spokesman for any other group without permission. So this is clearly a violation. She can have her opinion, but as the State representative she should not make it seem like her opinion is shared by all Californians.
Oh, the race card again..... Tying to compare race which no one has control over to the choice of conducting a hedonistic same-sex sexual encounter is demeaning to blacks or any other race that has been mistreated in the past.
Marriage has been defined as between a man and a woman for centuries. Even surviving the debauchery of the Roman Empire when adult gay males often kept young boys called "catamites" for sodomy.
Redefining the word would be demeaning to anyone living in a true marriage centered on raising a family and propagating the species.
Elton John agrees that it's not marriage and prefers to accept that it's something else.
I don't care if gays have all the rights afforded married couples but don't try to pretend it's something that it's not.
