'Behind the Green Door' porn star Marilyn Chambers found dead
Marilyn Chambers -- the Ivory Snow detergent model turned porn star -- was found dead Sunday in the mobile home in Canyon Country where she had been living for the last several months.
She was 56, according to LA Now.
Some other sources say she was 57.
She was reportedly found by her daughter, McKenna. No cause of death is yet known, and an autopsy will be performed.
Chambers, whose real name was Marilyn Ann Taylor, was discovered unresponsive at 8:51 p.m. at her residence in the 16000 block of Vasquez Canyon, Los Angeles County coroner's spokesman Ed Winter said, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Chambers' most famous adult film was the 1972 classic "Behind the Green Door," the most widely released porn film in the U.S. 
She was the star of "Insatiable" and was the star of director David Cronenberg's horror film "Rapid."

So sad to hear of the passing of one of the adult industry's leading ladies of years past. Marilyn was the consummate performer, her roles were always at the top of the scale in content and storyline.
I was lucky enough to see her in Denver, CO at a promotional event for her latest film, "Up and Coming", back in the late 70's.

I am so saddened by this. I never realized how beautiful Marilyn Chambers was as a younger woman. I must confess I ran to buy "behind the green door" at www.behindgreendoor.com and just LOVED the movie. I wish her friends and family well.
Wow, can't believe she is dead at such a young age, thinking it's gotta be drugs. And to think she was living in a mobile home, wouldn't have guessed that. She was my favorite/first porn star when I was just hitting puberty.
