Jay Leno impersonates Susan Boyle: Funny or cruel?

Jay-lenosusan Susanboyle

Jay Leno,
58, does look eerily similar to "Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle, 48,  in his spoof of her performance on "The Tonight Show."

According to the Daily Mail, the talk show host says there may be a reason behind their similarity in looks.

Besides the bob and the unruly brows.

"My mother came from the same part of Scotland. I think we're related," Leno jokes after his performance, which airs tonight.

We're not so sure about the chins. They're completely different.

And for some reason, this skit feels a little ... unnecessary.

Even though we're sure Susan herself would probably laugh at it, it's not that funny.

And unlike listening to -- and seeing -- Susan sing, watching Jay's impersonation makes us feel mean and small.

Do you agree?

I am so glad others feel that Mr. Leno's "skit" are mean and small. Has he never been looked over because of his looks? poor poor jay...taking the easy potshot at someone more talented than he...im old enough to remember him back when he was funny!

I miss Johnny! He was respectful.

Susan Boyle you are an inspiration.

I miss Johnny Carson.

Susan Boyle you are a blessing and total inspiration!

Susan Boyle has more talent than Jay Leno ever thought about having. Personally, I don't find him funny and never really. Now Johnny Carson...that was funny! Can't you just give this woman her glory for the time being, Jay? When do you retire anyway?

What a scumbag - a self important multi-millionaire mocking an unemployed woman who's trying to achieve something special, and has more talent then he ever will have.

I think it's cruel to mock anyone, if Jay Leno thinks it is okay to do so, it shows what a mean spirited man he is

No worries. Some more teasing comes with the territory of being a mega global superstar which apparently Susan will soon be. When and if the day comes she's ready, she'll be invited to perform on Leno's show.

Who do with think we are? Are we all so perfect that we can make fun of eachother. That was rude of him to poke fun. And that's what he was doing. I will never watch his shows again. What a jerk he is!!!!!

Susan's legacy to the world will be joy, song, inspiration and courage. She will leave Leno in the dust.
