'Twilight' news: Will Juan Antonio Bayona turn 'Eclipse' terrifying?
Will the third "Twilight" film -- "Eclipse" -- finally go to horror director (and Guillermo Del Toro protege) Juan Antonio Bayona?

I'm with Geoff on Bayona's amazing Spanish ghost film, "The Orphanage," a chilling, jump-out-of-your-seat and yet strangely heart-warming story about a mother and her missing son.
Watch the trailer above and see if you don't think this director could bring a new, unexpected and much-needed horror element to "Eclipse."
"Orphanage" is one of my favorite scary films in recent years. It may be even better than "The Others," and is right up there with the psychological house horror classic, "The Haunting," starring Julie Harris and Claire Bloom. ("Who's holding my hand?")
And I'm all for Bayona adding a bit more terror to "Twilight." It's a smart marketing idea, if only to seduce the young male movie-going audience that might be turned off by the squealing girls going ga-ga over Robert Pattinson.

Its will be Paul Weitz. But Bayona would be good for Breaking Dawn
I love Del Toro's work with The Orphanage and Pan's Labyrinth, so his protege would be the perfect addition to the Twilight movies.
Well if they are really going to turn the fourth book into a film... he should definitely direct that one.
i dunno, i don't really want Eclipse to be a horror film...
i dont think it really matters who directs it as long as they stay true to the book otherwise you are gonna have some really irate teenage girls on your hands and that is not always a good thing.
Twilight is a love story that just happens to have vampires in it. Why do we need a gore director for that. If they mess with the love story to get males to see the movie, they will lose the females and true fans who love the story the way it is. Aren't the females the ones seeing the movies over and over again and buying the merchadise? Keep us happy and we will continue to spend our money.
well, the twilight saga books have NO horror in them whatsoever.. however... Bayona was a great director in the Orphanage..
i hear Eclipse would be his first film in english..
i hope he gets confused sometimes with the language and Rob ends up saying "Yo Quiero Bella" at some point..

To anyone who has read the Twilight Saga (including myself) this should be taken as great news! Eclipse is my favorite book out of the series and I have been secretly hoping it would fall into capable hands. I would've never thought in a million years it would've been hands that were THIS capable. The actors and crew should be thanking their lucky stars that they'll have the opportunity to work with this caliber of talent.
i think that if breaking dawn is going to be a movie that he should TOTALLY direct that b/c breaking dawn i think is some what a horror in a vampire way
I don't think Eclipse should be turned into a horror flick, because the book is about a love story. These directors need to stay with the book and not turn them into something they want. We fell in love with the book first not the movies.So I hope Stephanie has a lot to say about everything and makes them stay true to HER thoughts. It was HER books that got our attention first.
