Heather Locklear nixes 'Melrose Place'! Lisa Rinna begs!
Heather Locklear won't be part of the new "Melrose Place"? Because she's afraid of looking too old?
According to Korbi Ghosh at Zap2it.com, Locklear turned down the show because she's not convinced writers can realistically bring her old character Amanda Woodward back.
A source says to EW.com, "There wasn't a way to bring her back that made sense."
OK, since when did making sense matter on a silly nighttime soap?
The actress' reps have confirmed Locklear's nix.
But we've heard rumors that the real reason is that she's worried about looking too haggard and old and ridiculous among the youthful cast that includes Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, former '90210'-er Jessica Lucas, and David Cassidy's daughter Katie.
However, no such insecurity is stopping the desperate and deluded Juvederm junkie Lisa Rinna, a former "Melrose Place" star who worked the streets of Hollywood yesterday to get support for her return to the series.
Here is a photo of the guppy-lipped TV Guide carpet host -- and former "Dancing With the Stars" alum -- on the corner of Melrose Avenue and Melrose Place with a sign urging drivers to "Honk for Lisa Rinna on the new 'Melrose Place!'"
The actress turned reality TV star has confessed she'd do anything to appear on the new show. And somehow, we believe her.
This is probably not the last you'll see of Lisa's attempts to land a redux role. We're guessing the actress will bare it all for Playboy this summer in another attempt to boost her appeal -- and possibly land a coveted "Melrose Place" return slot.
Who would you rather see on Melrose Place? Lisa Rinna (please God, no ... ) or Heather Locklear? Or neither?

As if Heather would be afraid of not looking good with this cast. Give me a break. I heard the script sucked, plain and simple.
That's too bad - I think Heather would've added some needed credibility to the show. Ashlee Simpson? What?
As for Lisa Rinna's ridiculous publicity stunt, these photos are mezmerizing! Is this what aging gracefully looks like? More pics: http://squareeyes.blinkx.com/2009/03/lisa-rinna-pouts-her-way-onto-melrose-place-20/
Bring back Jamie Luner! Take Shannen from 90210, add the newbie's, maybe Thomas C. That played Michael. Michael were really the only two main character left at the end. If they could some how bring back Rena Sofer & her character many be they could bring Heather back on. Maybe a plot such has the guy "Amanda & Rena's character played" killed in high school is not dead and want revenge and to stay alive she must find Amanda. But I would bring Jamie Luner Back! F Lisa Rinna she needs to stay on the red carpet!
I say bring Lisa Rinna back as Taylor (provided she lays off the surgery and acts more her age), and bring Robert Kelker-Kelly out of obscurity to play her love interest. These 2 made quite the pairing on DAYS, and MP could play up some of that soap history/chemistry for instant ratings!
why not bring Lisa Rinna back, in all honesty, to make a past show more real, you have to have original stars from the original show, so if they can fin a way they should, they have nothing to loose and alot more to gain
Why was the show canceled to begin with? I LOVED THAT SHOW! But to be truthfully honest....New characters???? Come on!!! NO show is equal or even better when you try to redo or go off of a previous show with new people. Take Dumb and Dumber'er' for example without Jim in it or Home Alone 3....without Macaulay Culkin the movie was a flop! It just isn't the same, your used to the way it is, and so trying to copy it or keep going with the plot with new people just isn't the same. I wish they would bring back ALL the old Actors and continue where they left off, and then they can have new characters along with them, and the show will still be a hit. But with all new people besides Laura, I'm sorry to say it will most likely fail to be a hit. We love the old cast. It just won't be the same without them.
