TLC not interested in Nadya Suleman -- thanks much
Nadya Suleman won't be on a reality TV show on the Learning Channel.
The president of TLC, the network that also features "Jon and Kate Plus 8," a show about a family with sextuplets, had previously indicated she was considering a Nadya Suleman show.
Now, they've changed their tune. On Tuesday Eileen O'Neill confirmed to Usmagazine.com that TLC would not work with Suleman.
"TLC is not pursuing any program at this time with Nadya Suleman," O'Neill told Us. "We wish the family well."
And surprise, the Nadyasulemanfamily.com website has also mysteriously disappeared. (Breaking News: We just checked and (surprise!) it's back up. But it's now missing her former PR company's contact information)
The mother of 14 was reportedly getting death threats left on that site.
The word from the public relations company that has since stopped for representing Nadya is that people at the company were also getting death threats online and in phone messages.
Would you watch a reality show on Suleman and her babies? Or would you boycott the show, the network and all its advertisers?

I would never watch TLC again and never buy a product advertised on that station or any affiliate. The selfishness of this woman is beyond comprehension. She has no consideration for her children, her parents, or the community who have been supporting her. Let her get a job and support those children. I have paid enough for people like her. All because she's lonely. Well when people are horders and have too many animals the authorities step in. Where are the authorities now???
I am glad to hear TLC is showing some common sense- the question is, where is our state government in all this? This woman was on workers comp for a bad back, yet she carries multiple children during multiple pregnancies and can still walk. She uses student loan money to pay for her family instead of school. She doesn't pay her nanny for overtime. She collects disability for three children, manages to find the money for invitro while uninsured, yet doesn't have health insurance to pay for the birth. Her website solicited donations for an individual, yet this is illegal per IRS rules. Most importantly, there is NO WAY she is going to be able to take
care of this many children- are child
protection services looking into her?
Are the appropriat state and federal agencies at least INVESTIGATING these important issues? As a taxpayer on the hook for this woman's care/bills, and let's face it, possible fraud, I want to know my government is at least showing due dilligence by examining these issues...
Who are all these issues important to? You? I'm so glad that her situation concerns so many people. Since all of you are convinced that this is crazy and it is not what's best for the children. What are YOU going to do to help these kids and mother? In everyone's eyes, she needs help. So where is everyone? Do you support abortion? Do you think that if you have 14 children you must have a big home? What are YOUR standards for living, and how much is your debt and why? Did she personally come to you and ask you for help? What about others who have committed crimes? Why is everyone so angry? Did you go to your local rehab center and start criticizing everyone there for the choices they have made and reminded them that they are taking YOUR tax dollars to "recuperate," but probably haven't. My advice to everyone who is not "doing" something or personally affected by this family, but obviously need to deal with anger issues, should check their city for all the issues that are financially and socially affecting them. Then, keep those comments to yourself or do something.
While we ALL may be a bit taken aback by a single mother of six having MORE children, the fact is those precious 8 blessings are among us, and ANY family would need our good wishes, thoughts and prayers. It is a SAD time in America when so many hide behind their blackberries, and laptops to ostracize a parent for choosing to be responsible for her actions. The greatness of this country is that you too can CHOOSE the lif you live. We are not a socialist government, and THANK GOD, our government doesn't dictate what we do with our bodies. If this had been any other mother, or any other family, I think there would be a different response. Let's stop the HATE, and accept that these babies are here. Pray for their well being and health. I would hope that any educational television programming would wait for the dust to settle and help us all get to know these little ones better and to help educate all of us on the perils and blessings of IVF. I would be more likely to boycott any media that would continue to cause detrimental press to such a helpless family.
I would never watch TLC again. That lady should have never been allowed to have those children. She doesn't even have a job. It's unfair to the taxpayers to have to support someone like this.I hope someone takes those children away.
I'd probably watch a documentary about this woman. She's fascinating. She clearly has serious issues, and that's always interesting to observe. I wouldn't watch her though because she had eight kids; I'd watch because she's out of her mind.
Okay, responding to the comment from Marie.. Do you support abortion? How does abortion come into this situation? The woman had in vitro fertilization. She actively SOUGHT OUT pregnancy, these weren't "whoops" babies. The issue isn't this woman having 14 children, it's that she has lied, committed possible criminal acts to get those 14 children. She went doctor shopping to find someone to perform the procedure. Abortion was never an issue. It's HOW to got pregnant to have 14 children.
To Anonymous.. sorry, but yes the government DOES dictate what you can do with your body, and is pushing that further to individual states. In the event Roe v Wade gets overturned, the gov't will have final say in what a woman does with her body, the choice to keep/abort a pregnancy, regardless of HOW she got pregnant is removed. To all those people who are vehemently anti abortion, I invite you to tell a pregnant 17 year old incestous rape victim she has NO choice and must bear that child. That the fact she's pregnant is a miracle, never mind the fact her drunken uncle is the man who forcibly impregnated her. Now, that's an extreme example, but there cannot be a hard and fast rule.
As for Nadya Suleman, even her own family has said she needs help, they have tried, and she has refused that help. She continues to lie to try and scam money from compassionate people. Her church is helping her.. that was a lie, she refuses charity, yet sets up a website to solicit donations, in flagrant disregard for the law. She quite possibly committed fraud using student loans to pay for the process, and a nanny. The fact she, and the babies, survived the birth is a wonder, but the methods she used to become pregnant, and the lies she continues to tell are what is incensing the rest of us.
I don't watch reality tv shows to begin with but I would DEFINITELY avoid any show with that welfare d*mbass on it.
I don't care if she had 100 children if she can take care of them. The point is she is asking the hard working people of the US to pay for her whims. If she could afford them without state aide in a state that is experiencing a terrible financial crisis that would be one thing. But she is making it everyones business by defrauding the system and asking for to care for her children.
hey anonymous--
The thing is she ISN'T being responsible for her actions. Her irresponsible choices and actions are what earned the wrath of the public that is unwillingly supporting her choices. Having IVF when you cannot take care of the babies you have to have 'just one more' baby is not responsible. She now brought 8 more babies into the world with no means of support believing that after she finishes schooling she would be able to take care of all 14 kids. Ummm... in the mean time what is she doing? Even after getting her degree, she will likely not be making enough money to support all her kids. She disgusts me.
BTW, this is about HER and not her babies. They had no choice in the matter. I believe the best thing would be to take away her parental rights.
