Octuplets' mom Nadya Suleman on food stamps, three older kids receive disability assitance
Octuplets' mom Nadya Suleman has said on TV that she wanted lots of kids to make up for the lack of connection she felt as a child.
How about the deprivation her 14 kids are gonna feel, growing up on food stamps and disability assistance?
It turns out that Nadya (surprise!) receives $490 a month in food stamps. To make matters even worse, three of her older six kids are disabled and receive federal assistance, her publicist confirmed Monday night.
Suleman's spokesman Michael Furtney said Suleman doesn't want to disclose the nature of the disabilities or the kind or amount of her payments.
Furtney confirmed the aid after the The Times reported that Suleman was receiving food stamps and federal supplemental security income.
"In her view these are just payments made for people with legitimate needs and are not, in her view, welfare," Furtney said. "She just believes that there are programs for people with needs, and she and her children qualify for some of them."
Oh, I'll just bet she does.
Ironically, in her recent "Today Show" interview, Suleman told anchor Ann Curry that she doesn't receive welfare. Maybe she forgot? She has been pretty busy lately.

Suleman was implanted with the embryos of 14 of her children at West Coast IVF Clinic in Beverly Hills. The clinic is directed by Dr. Michael Kamrava.
Coincidentally, he and Suleman appeared together in a KTLA video discussing his guaranteed implantation "seed" methods back in 2006.

All 14 children should be removed from her custody at once! How can you not remember that you are on Food Stamps and half of your existing children (3 of 6) are on SSI? Are you sure she just worked at that mental hospital??????
Wow, and a welfare mom to boot too. I hope that the child welfare services are watching this one closely. She sounds like she already has significant emotional issues and it's unconscionable that she's already done IVF before and now has this to contend with. Oh wait, it'll be the people in So. Cal that'll have to deal with it, sorry.
Oh, gee. Whatta *shocker.* Shame on this woman. Shame on the doctors who OK'd this. Shame on the health insurance company.
I would like to know how much her fertility treatments cost... If she can afford EXPENSIVE fertility treatment how does she qualify for food stamps? She should have been using that money to feed the 6 kids she already had instead making tax payers feed them! She should be investigated for WELFARE FRAUD!

How about the cost of cosmetic surgery --including the recent lip implant thingie and manicures, too while we are at it.
That $168,000 disability benefit wasn't a lottery win.
It was more important to her to use it to on cosmetic surgery than top get her through the life she had with the responsibilities current to her filing.
If she decided to go out and exponentially increase them then that should be reflected in whatever help she gets, being deducted til she pays it back.
Obviously, anyone who deprives her own children of the basics and uses the money to to plump up her lips and procreate further needs some sort of financial conservatorship to oversee how she spends her money. Paricularly if these are public funds.
There should be a class action suit initiated by California taxpayers against this woman. What she is squandering could easily help an equal number of needy children who aren't there due to some silly whim.
and tha doctor she be made to contribute to the care of what he hath wrought.
Now that we know who her infertility guy is, who did the nose and lip jobs and why?

She should of took that 165 k and bought a house for her six kids not blown it to have more kids i mean come on where this woman lives to buy a house for a normal family is gonna cost a ton but to buy one for fifteen people is gonna take a miracle to pay for! What a shame im a single mom with 1 baby n i struggle! What is she thinkin!?!?! Shes nuts thats all i can say!
I'm glad this didn't occur in MA - we have enough financial problems. How could this happen? How did she slip under the wire, avoid the money issues, use this money for implanting embryos when CA will have pay for years. Were there no social workers or investigations done? She has used state money for lip enhancement, etc. Your state is having financial problems also - where are the investigators? I'm very sorry for your state but so very sorry for those 14 children - they'll be teenagers someday!
I was telling people when this story first broke of this woman having 8 more kids on top of the 6 she already has. I for for the Department of Welfare in PA so I have seen many cases of women having kids just to get cash assistance (TANF) or SSI for the kids. They use the children just to get free money. If she already has 3 on SSI that is $1,900 a month tax free. Now that she has 8 more children born premature they automatically qualify for SSI because of that and being under weight. So now she has another $5,000 a month for those children so now we are up to $7,000 a month tax free. This woman is a scammer and I'll bet you much more is going to come out. She will make many feel sorry for her and whe will get many other things for free. The tax payers will be paying for her $7,000 amonth in SSI and the millions that the medical care will cost.

ha ha I can't wait until all of the kids are teenagers at once– I have 3 children all are teenagers (and fully supported by me and my husband )and I can tell anyone with cute fuzzy babies and younger children that if they had kids in reverse starting with the teenage years tthe human race would have died out by now :) You would have to be mentally ill to purposefully try to have that many children unless you are a mulltimillionaire movie star with the means to have all of the help needed.
