Mickey Rourke's beloved Loki goes to doggy heaven
Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke's beloved Chihuahua, Loki, passed away peacefully Monday night, E! reports.
Loki, 18, was famously photographed acompanying with his actor-master at the Venice Film Festival.

Loki was also thanked -- along with all his dogs -- by Rourke when he picked up a Golden Globe award in January.
"I'd like to thank all my dogs, the ones who are here and the ones who aren't here anymore," "The Wrestler" star said, accepting his award. "Sometimes, when a man is alone, that's all you got is your dog. And they've meant the world to me."
His dogs have been with him through high and low times. But he's definitely on a high now.
Rourke seems poised for his Oscar on Sunday and perhaps even an Independent Spirit Award on Saturday.
Loki would be proud.
As all of us who have lost faithful fur companions can attest, there will be a tremendous sense of loss and deep mourning ahead for Mickey.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the accomplished actor, who will be grieving for his pet, Loki, despite all the awards hoopla this weekend.

I know exactly how Mickey Rourke felt about Loki. When he was down & out his Loki was there to give him unconditonal love (unlike human beings). Condolences to a great actor. Loki has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge but the two of you will meet again. And - I hope he wins the Oscar - for Loki.

Mickey I have to be honest. I knew nothing about you. Only that you were an actor and made a come back. I seen you tonight on TV during the red carpet and the guys asked you what you were wearing. Then said I see you have Loki on you lapel. You said what you said and I had to go google it. I was so choked up when I found out who Loki was and the love you have for dogs!!! We all can relate big time on their is no comfort when your feeling your worst then the comfort of your dogs. They think your still the best thing ever no matter how shitty or sad we are. Thank you for having dogs in your life. Know that in the end when all the dust settle's your dogs will always be their no matter what. But you know that already. Take Care and RIP Loki.
