Michelle Obama bares arms in official White House portrait
First Lady Michelle Obama is wearing a sleeveless black shift dress by Michael Kors in her official portrait, released by the White House today.
Her choice of a sleeveless dress makes the arm-baring style her official signature. Expect her to keep baring her muscular toned arms for the next four years.
Better get used to it, folks.
Michelle wore sleeveless on the recent covers of People and Vogue. And she chose a controversial Narcisco Rodriguez sleeveless black V-neck blouse for her husband's first address before the Congress earlier this week.
But this is the first time Mrs. Obama has worn a dress by Kors, one of the most well-known American designers, thanks to his judge role on the popular reality fashion show, "Project Runway."
Who's next, Christian "Hot Mess" Siriano?
What do you think of the First Lady's choice? We have to admit we love it.
She looks classic, elegant, down-to-earth and appropriate.
And the pearls are perfect. She's totally flawless and completely American.

I like the black and white but think the bare arms are too summery-looking; better with a bolero type brief jacket.
How, exactly, does one look "completely American" (other than perhaps by wearing flip-flops and a baseball cap, no matter the circumstances)? With all that Michelle Obama has accomplished, we're really going to spend time talking about her bare arms? This country still has a very long way to go.

The black and pearls are simple but stunning, an organdy or eyelet white bolero would have added a slightly more tailored touch
Absolutely Beautiful!!!
Simple & Chic...
I DON'T LIKE THE DRAPES GROWING OUT OF HER HEAD
Michelle is stunning.
Check out this picture of Jackie Kennedy at her husband's SOTU. Notice that she is elegantly sleeveless in a sea of coats, furs, hats and suits.
Since bare arms in the middle of winter was good enough for our first lady from the LAST CENTURY,I think our modern times can manage the shock to our delicate sensibilities.

This is a very physically fit White House. I hope this administration does something to help poor women be able to get arms like Michelle's. People who can't afford a gym need something. Physical fitness is good for the body and the mind. Let's figure out how to help more Americans get access to the fitness help they need.
That woman has wider shoulders than Junior Seau. Definitely a second round draft choice, maybe a first rounder if the Redskins trade up.
I don't know if it's because my favorite color of clothes is black but this is the best photo I've seen of Michelle Obama.
