Kanye West 'devastated' by Rihanna assault news
Kanye West told Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM this morning that he was "devastated" when he heard about what allegedly happened to his friend, Rihanna.
He saw Rihanna and boyfriend Chris Brown Saturday night at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash.
He said he knows them both but is closer to Rihanna.
"I went on tour with her, and we really vibed out on a lot of creative ideas," he tells Ryan, recalling turning her on to Grace Jones and Jean-Paul Goude influences.
"Rihanna is so important to pop culture and music," he explains. "She has the potential to be the greatest performer in the world."
But more than that, he describes her as "my baby sis" and adds, "I would do anything to help her."
West says that it doesn't matter whether a woman is famous like Rihanna or whether "she works at McDonald's."
"That (the alleged assault) should never happen. It should never come to that place."

chris brown deserves watever he has coming to him IF he really did assault rihanna. No one should have to go through any type of abuse and especially since he was the one cheating, chris should of just took it like a man and let her vent. A REAL man wouldnt hit a woman!!!!!
Everybody forgets no one perfect. And we all makes mistakes. Chris and Rihanna will get past this. He is not the first and won't be the last who will lose control of his or her emotions. True we all need to be aware of this subject , but to make Chris out to the worst person in the world for one mistake he made is crazy. Regardless he is still a good person and entertainer. He is going have to live with this not you all.
