Drew Barrymore to direct Twilight's 'Eclipse?' Please, no!

With "Push" star Dakota Fanning and Canadian cutie Bronson Pelletier joining the cast and that pesky rumor still swirling about Vanessa Hudgens' possible role in "New Moon," now comes more "Twilight" news.
EW is reporting that Drew Barrymore may be involved in the third film, "Eclipse." "Involved" meaning she may direct the whole darn movie.
What? Nooo! Don't let Drew anywhere near Robert Pattinson!
She will break his heart in three months, just like she's done with all the other poor saps (Jason Segel, Spike Jonz, Justin Long, Zach Braff, Edward Norton, Tom Green, Luke Wilson) who have fallen for her "oh, I love you soooo forever" act.
Chris Weitz is absolutely not directing the third film, EW has also reported.
Which is why Summit Entertainment is talking with a small select group of directors, including giggly actress/producer/director Barrymore.
Maybe Summit saw Drew's directorial expertise on the upcoming roller derby comedy "Whip It," starring Ellen Page?
Anyway, no one from anyone's camp is commenting officially on this one way or the other.
But we just thought you'd like to know.
We'd really love to know the names of the other directors they're talking to. That would be very telling.
Let's hope it's not (Please, let there be a God) Baz Luhrmann.

I;d love to see Baz work with Rob Pattinson. It would be a perfect time for Rob to work with the director. Someone on E just suggested Rob for Gatsby which is Baz's next film and i think its a brilliant idea.
She's not good looking enough to break anyone's heart at this point.
I don't have a problem with any Drew's talents but I believe she's just too raw to tackle "Eclipse". Ideally, I'd like Chris Weitz to come back and do "Eclipse", for continuity purposes. If not, then I'll take any of the following: Katja von Garnier, Roland Emmerich or Marc Forster.
I don't agree with Baz Luhrmann as an option. I just don't believe he would mesh well for this type of movie. Tim Burton would actually be my top choice (along with the previous ones I listed)except that I think he wouldn't touch this franchise with someone else's camera, which is very unfortunate because he would be amazing.
nooooo dont letr vannessa andd hudgens in twilight she will skrew the movie up!!!! she is one of the most awful singer/actors ive ever seen!!! please oh please for gods sake dont let her or drew near the movie!!!! i love twilight but with them on deck i wont go see the movie!!!
One more comment I'd like to make. A great director for "Eclipse" could be Mark Waters. He's dabbled in romance and special effects. He directed Mean Girls, Just Like Heaven, The Spiderwick Chronicles and most recently The Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Brad Silberling is also a good one. He did City of Angels, Moonlight Mile and most recently Land of the Lost. Actually, there are a slew of seasoned directors who could do this movie. Nothing against Drew but she's just not ready.
I like Dustin, he's a decent man. Put something together with Dustin that I can make. New York is the best bet. Perhaps we can still settle this.
I wish they could get Peter Jackson for 'Eclipse'
He did an amazing job with the Lord of the Rings Series.
I don't doubt Drew Barrymore's directing capabilities but they should get a more experienced director for the movies and slow down production so the movies have a higher quality and stay true to the book , With Catherine Hardwicke the timing was awful. It was poor directing. I loved the movie but i stil had my annoyances with it.
DEAR GOD - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep Drew Barrymore away from Twilight!!!! Do a Fever Pitch 2 - that would be great - but NO NO NO NO NO Twilight / Eclipse. That is my FAVORITE book, and it just CANNOT be butchered. There are so many wonderful scenes in Eclipse. Please get an experienced director in this genre. Stephenie Meyer - speak up!!!!!!
How about Aussie Mel Gibson? He is for sure a hell of a director but, he´s never done anything like this. Crazy maybe but he is great.
