Is Mickey Rourke dating Courtney Love? Don't bet on it
British papers are spreading the totally unsubstantiated rumors that Oscar-favorite Mickey Rourke and scary singer Courtney Love are an item.
It's true that they both attended the recent Elle Style Awards in London. Rourke picked up the best actor prize and Love picked up the Elle Woman of the Year accolade.
They may even be friends.
But I don't think that means they're dating. Although they do have things in common.
Both their finest roles have reflected their reality. She played a drug addic
t stripper in "The People vs. Larry Flynt" and had a drug problem and danced as a stripper in real life. Rourke plays as a washed-up "piece of meat" in "The Wrestler" and has been in an admitted career slump for more than a decade. Or two.
Also, both have openly admitted (Love on her own blog, Rourke to press) to having plastic surgery and more plastic surgery to reverse the results.
But Rourke has been very busy lately enjoying all the award season attention and his many statues. Not to mention all the famous gorgeous babes, such as Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Sharon Stone, Thandie Newton and Marion Cotillard, whom he's gotten to hang out with.
Yeah, life is good. You could even say "It's good to be Mickey."
