'Today' show did not sub Perez Hilton for Ann Coulter. Darn it...
According to an erroneous report on Drudge, NBC's "Today" show abruptly cut conservative author/mouthpiece Ann Coulter from its Tuesday show, claiming the schedule was "overbooked."
Executives at "Today" were said to have replaced Coulter with notorious celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, the man who draws bodily fluids coming out of celebrities' mouths and other orifices.
Oooh, good item. Just not true.
On Monday, Coulter screamed bloody murder when her "Today" slot was canceled, telling Fox News' Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes that NBC had booked her only as a "charade" to keep her from going on other shows.
NBC disputes the charge. They say Coulter was bumped so the program could devote extra time to developments in the Gaza Strip, including Matt Lauer's interview with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
"We've had Ann Coulter on 'Today' many times, but because of the news in Washington and the Middle East, we decided to cancel her appearance on Tuesday morning," said NBC spokeswoman Megan Kopf. "Understanding the media as well as she does, we are sure she knows this happens from time to time."
After Coulter's complaints -- and coverage on the Drudge Report, which reported that NBC had banned her for life, which the network denied -- she was invited to appear on two segments of "Today" on Wednesday.
Personally, I'd like to see Coulter and HIlton on a talk show together. Now that would be fun to watch.

I did see the Coulter/Lauer "interview" on the "today show". Unfortunately Mr. Lauer could not keep quiet enough to allow Ms Coulter time to answer questions. Just another fine example of "big media" painting "their" interp. of what is going on in the world. "NICE going, (once again) NBC Today!"

I saw her on Hooda & Kathy Lee, she gives women a bad name. She's an idiot. If people ignore her maybe she'll go away. I'm glad Matt wouldn't let her talk. She's has nothing worth hearing.

I thought the interview was a waste of time, Matt just argued with Ann Coulter and would barely let her finish a sentence. Is this NBC'S beliefs or just Matt's. I feel he should just sit and listen, if he feels so strongly maybe he should write a book. Boring, titled "What its like to be Matt Lauer". Go Ann, somebody's got to speak up, especially when he asked you about President Bush....did he ever wonder what it would have been like if Gore would have become President? Do people truly think that Bush wanted 911, that would be a heavy weight to care on anyone's shoulders. Bush did the best he could, so sick of the TV stations bashing the President!
It's not bashing when it is the truth. George Bush was a pitiful excuse for a president, and I would have much rather taken my chances with Al Gore. As for Ann Coulter, she is a hatemonger, and just likes to spread venom and hear herself talk. She calls democrats Godless, but I doubt she plans on praying for President Obama, which is what a true Christian should do.
I think Matt is a joke anyway. He seems to think we are interested in him rather than the guest he is interviewing. Maybe Tom Cruise was on target after all. We had a saying back when Katie was on. We called them Matt the Liar and Katie the communist. They both need to shut up and let the person being interviewed present their views whether either Matt or Katie like them or not.

I think Today should never let Ann Coulter grace their airwaves again. Why does anyone continue to give that woman a forum to sell her crass ideas. I feel that the majority of Today's following would never complain if she were never invited back to their show.
