Decoy hearse at Bahamas airport while Jett Travolta is cremated

Jett Travolta's death certificate stated the official cause of his death was "seizure."

Glen Campbell, the assistant director of the Bahamian funeral home handling the remains of John Travolta's son, told the Associated Press that the body was in "great condition" with no sign of head trauma.

This despite police officials' and an EMT worker's earlier remarks that the teen hit his head on a bathtub and that he had a hematoma and a small amount of blood was found near the body.

Authorities didn't release the results of an autopsy performed Monday (that's up to the family to do) but Campbell saw the body and the death certificate, which was based on its findings.

"The only cause of death that was listed was 'seizure,'" he said.

Bahamas_travoltas_son20090105142059 Late Monday, things got bizzare. A black hearse drove from the funeral home to the airport after the family said they were bringing Jett's remains to Ocala, Fla., for the funeral.

Two white jets waited on the tarmac as Bahamian police in dress uniforms blocked access to area.

But it was all an elaborate ruse.

Funeral home director Keith McSweeney told reporters later that Jett's remains were actually being cremated at that time.

He said the family was planning to leave the Bahamas with their son's ashes on Tuesday. He could not explain the reason for the police decoy and the two white jets.

Nor can I. Can you?

The made-up cult of Scientology claims another follower.

Actually, a very simple explanation can be expressed in three words:

People like you.

Privacy. That's the reason.

Have you any idea how many times this story has been reported over the world? Many/most of the reports are rude and accusational.

The Travolta's don't want or need that now or ever.

They want and need their privacy.

Why the decoy? Why not? This is the worst thing that can happen to a parent and they are being followed around by cameras/media, etc. They should be allowed to say goodbye to their son without any interruption. They were the famous ones, not him. He deserves to be left alone. Stop talking about the "supposed" c ontroversies and remember they lost a child.

Through all this the Travolta camp were still concerned about media appearances. I think the ruse was planned in order to keep cameras off the smokestack of the crematorium. No doubt bloggers would use it--quite rightly-- to say Scientology and Hubbard dogma goes up in smoke.

I can't blame them for setting up a decoy. They were able to say goodbye to their son and brother without paparazzi in their faces.

We all deserve that much privacy.

The Travolta lawyers make a statement that the decision to stop all medications was made after "consulting" a doctor. What they won't tell you is that the doctor almost certainly THE DOCTOR THAT EVALUATED JETT DID NOT AGREE WITH THE DECISION TO TAKE HIM OFF HIS MEDICATION--NO DOCTOR EVER WOULD in a child this ill. This is almost certainly why the name of this doctor has not been released. During my internship I did several months of rotations in Neurology--and this is what Neurologists teach. Although unintended, this foolish decision cost the life of an innocent child. I've heard Travolta spinners on the news say that "there is no evidence that it was bad decision to stop the medication". Hello!! The evidence is an innocent child who was taken off medication and died of a seizure. What a tragedy--and yes, it was preventable.

My heart goes out to this family and the tragic death of their son Jett. I am a person who believes in fate and that it was Jett's time to leave this world for a better place. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him and for those of us who has come to know his mother and father through their acting careers. May God be with them in their hour of need.

A proven fact, from and according to CoS documents is that the "church" IS against modern medicine and especially against drugs and psychology. One wonders what the autopsy discovered and one also wonders about the Depakote that the boy, according to Scientology lawyers, was on. When one is on Depakote and suddenly removed from it, it can bring on seizures. Being a leader in this cult it would be highly unusual for this boy to have been on this drug. Was he really on Depakote? If so is there any proof? When was he taken off from it and why? Considering the involvment of the CoS one wonders about a charge of homicide or murder. The CoS is NOT above such.
