'Twilight' Kristen Stewart on 'New Moon' director Chris Weitz, Taylor Lautner's muscles
MTV caught up with Kristen Stewart at Sundance and got her take on "New Moon" director Chris Weitz and on Taylor Lautner staying on -- and bulking up -- as Jacob Black.
Stewart is one of the few actors from the film who has actually met with Weitz, who directed the abysmal "The Golden Compass." But she sounds very supportive of her new director.
"Chris is -- on top of him being a really sweet guy -- he is entirely devoted," she explained to MTV. "And he's very clearly not doing the movie just because it's the next big thing. He really likes it a lot."
She was also concerned about a change of actor playing Jacob and is relieved that Taylor is staying on.
"I'm so glad they didn't have to find somebody else; we already had him! I didn't understand all the deliberation on [whether to bring him back]. But now that it's set, we can all rest.
"He's really buff!" she exclaimed of Lautner. "He definitely is. It took him a lot of time."
Kristen's Bella will be hanging with Jacob for much of "New Moon." But don't worry about Edward, er, Robert Pattinson. She says he's doing fine. Even with that controversial haircut!
"I think he's OK," Kristen told MTV about her fanged love interest. "He's back in London now, which makes it easier for him. It's funny. It only affects you when you come to something like [Sundance]. And then, other than that, he's totally the same guy he always was."
No word on how she feels about Dakota Fanning playing the role of Jane, the Volturi vampire.

I think that every actress so far is a perfect fit for the characters of the twilight swaga...im excited to hear that taylor lautner is goin to stay as jacob black he is the perfect match for the film new moon....the twilight swaga is the best book series ive read i think stephanie did a great job in turning her dreams into mind blowing books.

I like the idea of Dakota Fanning playing the role of Jane, I had no idea. I am also really happy that Taylor gets to keep his role of Jacob Black.
It's fascinating that The Americans have never even heard of the Twilight books and movies, or of these actors. Movies and books are so dead, especially in America, of course. It probably would have been better if they hired Americans to be in it instead of trying to fake it. Too bad. I guess Americans never went in for acting or fiction, after all.
I'm very happy to hear that Taylor Lautner is keeping his role. It would be awfull if they were to make any changes, as it happens when a new director comes along. As a Twilight series fan, the movie gave the book characters a face and I believe a great job was done with the actors chosen and making changes would have just put me off and might influence my decision of whether or not I will see another Twilight series movie. And to you OFFSHORE OBSERVER..... your comment just shows what little you know about Americans.
You should put Megan Fox and Jeremy Sumpter in new moon
I think putting Dakota Fanning is a great idea but Chris Weitz should really put Megan Fox,Jeremy Sumpter, and maybe Shia LaBeouf in new moon it would make the movie Fantastic and lots of people would see it.
You should put the song Wake me up inside by Evanescence it really goes with new moon Chris u should listen to it .Another song would be Stop and Stare by OneRepublic it also goes with New moon these songs r great u should really take time and listen to them.
I love the Twilight saga and I think that Katherine did a good job directing Twilight. I am very curious to see how well Chris does on the second one.
I am very happy that taylor is staying as Jacob Black in New Moon. He is a very had working man. I really think that every one especially Robert Paterson and Kisten as well as the others really deserve more than just a thank you for working hard to make the twilight fans very happy. i just am so proud that well they are making new moon. I am very excited to see it soon. i mean it is very amazing . Well love you guys and wish you guys all the luck in the worlds to all of the people making it and the Movie New Moon to turn out to be the popular movie in 2009!!!
