Family lawyers say Jett Travolta's death probably due to head trauma
More details have emerged on how John Travolta's son, Jett Travolta, died.
And it's even sadder than you can imagine.
TMZ spoke with John Travolta's lawyer and close friend Michael McDermott and family attorney Michael Ossi, who are with the actor in the Bahamas.
They say Jett's fatal injury was probably the result of hitting his head on the bathtub, toilet seat or both. The lawyers say the suggestion that Jett went undiscovered for hours is "absolutely false," TMZ reports.
"Police have said the last time anyone saw Jett was when he went to the bathroom on January 1. His body was discovered by nanny Jeff Kathrein the next day at 10 AM," TMZ reports. "In fact, McDermott and Ossi say it appears Jett went back and forth to his room and the fatal injury occurred 'very shortly' before Jett was found on the bathroom floor."
McDermott and Ossi say that two nannies were along for the trip and that one of them, Kathrein, was by Jett's side "24/7."
It is still unclear whether Jett fell to the floor as a result of a seizure or he had a seizure after falling or slipping. An autopsy will be conducted Monday to determine the cause of death.
TMZ, quoting McDermott, says that a hotel manager was first on the scene with Kathrein and that the two of them administered CPR. John Travolta came in and took over the CPR for a "substantial period of time" until emergency medical technicians arrived and took over.

My heart and prayers are with the Travolta family- with all the respect in the world to John and Kelly as being the greatest parents I have ever seen in the public eye. So sorry for their loss.
I wonder what both his attorneys are doing down there with Travolta on a family New Year vacation?
This is so tragic! I feel so sad for his family. My deepest sympathy to the Travolta family at his time.
Deepest sympathy on such a family loss.
My heart goes out to the Travolta family. To love someone so much & know that they've been there for you all the way, & then to lose them. I can't imagine how you feel. Jett is watching over you all time & he'll always be in your hearts.
Lovee xx
So sorry to hear of your loss. My son is also 16 and I love him so much. I lost 1 son previously in 1984 and know how it feels to lose a baby boy. No matter how old they get they are still our babies. I know he will be an angel around you and your family now. Blessings and peace be with you. I have loved your work John since 1978. Thanks for the joy you bring to others and your kind and loving heart. All the best to your wife and daughter as well.
Love and great energy to you all!
my sympathy...
