President Obama's half brother George Obama popped for pot possession
Brother, can you spare a joint?
Seems like every president has an embarrassing black sheep brother.
Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush all had brothers whose behavior has been both unethical and embarrassing.
Remember Billy Carter, Neil Bush, Roger Clinton, Donald Nixon?
Even John McCain's brother caused a ruckus during the election when he dialed 911 to ask about the cause of the bad traffic he was stuck in and then swore at the operator.
Now President Obama's half brother, George, has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana near his home in Nairobi, Kenya.
George Obama doesn't know his brother well and he only had one joint on him. "He is not a drug peddler," Police Chief Joshua Omokulongolo told the Associated Press. Well, that's good to know.
George is the youngest of Barack Obama's father's seven children. He was not among the new president's Kenyan relatives attending the recent D.C. inauguration. And media reports of George living in a shack and earning $1 day are said -- by him -- to be exaggerated.
"I'm proud of how I live," he told AP in an interview last summer. The media "are tarnishing the family name."
Yeah, well, the joint didn't help much either.
There's been no comment from the White House on this family matter.
Should the president make one? Or does he have bigger fish to fry right now?

who gets arrested in africa, in kenya for weed ? when half of kenyan men are dreadlocks, I even saw arap moi smoking a joint back in the day on a secluded highway, i mean all you have to do is look at the mans eyes. mr police chief, this is for you, how much bribe did you take this month ?

a joint? what is the big deal anyway about marijuana? alcohol is far worse. leave it to the media to hype-up another non-story. too bad neutral news reporting has turned into "Inside Edition" a sad state of affairs
one joint? wow, he's like a marijuana drug lord. i want to punch the guy in the face who arrested him. what a waste of time and money. im sure the streets will be a lot safer with out this guy smoking his 1 jointl.

Really, this is not much of a story, and I'm surprised to see it in print.
For one thing, Obama's relationship to a pot smoking half-brother in Kenyan is tenuous at best. Obama was raised in a completely different environment with different parents, so his half-brother's drug use has absolutely no relevance to Obama's character. Secondly, marijuana laws in Kenya are ***-backward. They target and prescribe harsh penalties on everyday users while leaving drug traffickers largely unscathed.
One joint? Please! Marijuana use just isn't that big a deal folks.
how is possessing a joint "unethical"? Who did he hurt by possessing a joint?
