Did Michelle Obama's Tracy Feith dress have a prayer?
Have time for one final Michelle Obama inaugural week fashion alert?
Some of you may have missed this, but at the National Prayer Service at the National Cathedral, our new first lady wore a fitted scoop neck '50s silhouette dress with an oriental print by Tracy Feith, surfer-turned-New York-based designer known for his amusing prints.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the style is from the fall 2008 collection and is still available for about $720.
Obama purchased hers at Ikram in Chicago (873 N Rush St., 312-587-1000), which also is credited for the Jason Wu ivory gown, the Loree Rodkin jewelry and the Jimmy Choo shoes she wore to the inauguration balls, as well as the sunny Isabel Toledo ensemble and green Choo shoes she chose for daytime.
And here's the good news! He has an affordable collection coming out in Target in May.
What do you think of this feminine frock?
Was it better than her lemongrass sparkly swearing-in ceremony sheath AND that white one-shouldered Inaugural Ball gown?
Sound off!

I thought she looked fantastic in all three ensembles. She does have a lot of style for her tall stature she wears many clothes very well.
Loved the dress she wore to the prayer service. Much more than the two previous dress choices. Also being 5'11" finding clothing that looks great on is truly hard to find. Mrs. Obama while being pear shaped, has done an outstanding job choosing looks that accentuate her positives...most of time.
Thank you Michelle Obama for making a profound statement about American creativity, design, and craftsmanship. Her choice of clothing for Inauguration Day has made the media talking about American artisans and the talents of lesser known American designers. Mrs. Obama didn't need help from major brand labels or from Paris or Milan to find elegance and style. Follow her lead when buying your own jewelry and accessories and when shopping for Valentine's Day. Make this the Year of the American gift!
I thought she was elegant and she looked lovely. I would not choose the particular outfits for myself however, I appreciate her individual style. Of course I would not look quite so good as she did in anything I wore. Appreciate her for her unique style...Lay off the First Lady.
I liked the ensemble Michelle wore to the inauguration, until she took off the coat. A sweater?!! Just a little too informal for the occasion.
I might have liked the ball gown, if it was strapless and in a different fabric. It looked more like a prom dress.
There many American designers who can dress a first lady in the style that is suitable to her position. There's an amazing lack of sophitication on her part.
I think Michelle is a prime candidate for "What Not to Wear". I think Stacey and Clinton can show her how pick out the best looks for her.
She's not a stay at home mom anymore, she's the wife of a president and should dress like one.
adnerb, if you are going to insult someone at least learn how to spell, it shows your lack of *sophistication*. Mrs. Obama is a fabulous dresser
Lorraine- Stop drinking the Kool-Aid, girlfriend! All three inauguration ensembles were beyond hideous. Who wears a gold cocktail coat in the middle of the afternoon when its 20 degrees outside? I thought Jill Biden looked fantastic in that red coat and boots! So classic! The dress Michelle wore to the ball looked like prom night circa 1954. I WAS a fan of the purple sheath she wore the night her husband clinched the nomination, but the red and black disaster she wore the night he won the election? She looked like a walking lava lamp. She's definitely NOT attractive, so if she's wearing all the beads and flowers to take the focus from her face, she's doing a good job!
I think you fell and bumped your head and your vision is still messed up. Walk over to your mirror and look at that hideous thing standing in front of it..Don't look too long though, you might go blind...I know you're hatin on her because you wore that hand me down $5.00 dress your mom made for your prom. It still did not hide your ugly shape...why did you take your brother to the prom, couldn't find a date? Look in the mirror and you will answer the question. STOP HATIN FATSO!
I thought Mrs. Obama looked absolutely fantastic. Those that are saying negative things are just hatin! Stop hatin! It would've mattered what she wore, those of you that are hatin would not have liked what he wore.
Get a grip, she will have many followers..she is tall and graceful and looks good in 95% of what she wears...Go Michelle!
