Screen Actors Guild's fabulous post-party is on! May I come?
People magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation will once again co-host the official Screen Actors Guild Awards post bash on Jan. 25.
The party will be held on the back lot of the Shrine Exposition Center. Tony Schubert of Event Eleven will design and produce the gala for the first time this year, while famed chef Wolfgang Puck returns to create the culinary delights for the second consecutive year.
The SAG Awards Gala has been a cornerstone of the People, EIF, SAG relationship for the last 13 years.
And did I mention that for 13 years, no non-People reporters -- and yes, that definitely includes me -– have been allowed into this star-studded bash?
Not that I'm bitter and twisted about being expected to announce their exclusive party that I'm never ever invited to. Oh, noooo ...
But it's all for a good cause. This year's $100,000 gift from People and EIF will support the foundation's scholarships and emergency assistance to SAG members as well as reading programs across the nation.
"We're proud to once again support the SAG Foundation and to celebrate the SAG Awards at this very special event," said Larry Hackett, managing editor of People. "It's our way of thanking television and film performers for another great year."
Yada, yada, yada.
