Prosecutors lay out case in killing of Jennifer Hudson's family members
What allegedly caused William Balfour to shoot Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother and take her nephew Julian King, 7, captive, kill him and leave his body in a car?
Must have been a serious affront, right?
According to People, prosecutors allege that it was jealousy, pure and simple.
They say that Balfour was enraged by a birthday gift he presumed had been given by another man to his estranged wife, Julia, Hudson's sister.

There was a small birthday party for Julia held on Oct. 23 at the home of her mother, Darnell Donerson.
Balfour spotted the gift when he came to the house the next day, authorities say.
Prosecutors allege that he returned to the house after Julia left for work and shot her mother and brother and then took her son and killed him.
If that doesn't sound like a recipe for an insanity defense, I don't know what does.

No way--he is just plain old fashioned evil-not insane. When he had that little sweet boy in the car---premeditated murder-pure and simple. What did he have to be jealous for-he had another woman pregnant. I think he has driven his poor loving mother insane though-she thinks he is still her innocent boy. How she can feel that way after he executed that child and family is the real insanity case.

william balfour is a PATHETIC, PITIFUL, reject...with apparently Low Self Esteem, he & his mother deserves to Burn in hell. Once in prison, I pray they castrate the Bum! Then kill him......
I think he killed the mother and brother to get the son. He's too stupid and didn't realize they would blame him for the murders since the boy was with him so he had to kill the boy too and tried to escape
I'm sorry but I honestly don't think William Balfour committed this awful crime. it's been confirmed that her brother was a known drug dealer and was shot a month prior and never received medical treatment. Also the young lady who said William had the gun has a pending drug case and I believe they cut her a deal......the facts don't add up. don't u guys know if the had enough evidence they would have charged him a long time ago....they held him as long as they could on a parole violation!!
I DON'T KNOW IT ALL SOUNDS A BIT TOO CONVIENT TO ME. I THINK THERE IS MORE GOING ON HERE. THREE MURDERS IS OVER THE TOP FOR A GIFT......ESPECIALLY A KID TOO.JUST LIKE YOU SAID HE HAD ANOTHER WOMAN SO HOW MUCH COULD HE POSSIBLY CARE ABOUT HER OTHER MAN? POLICE DEPTS IN BIG CITIES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES TO CLOSE HIGH PROFILE CASES. NOT THAT I THINK HE'S INNOCENT, BUT IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT OTHER EVIDENCE IS PRESENTED.
Don't let Law enf and the courts fool you. They do will and deal to win a case or get it over quickly. I don't know if he is innocent or not but I don't trust our so call Justice system. I have worked in it for over 20 years.
I am a friend of William Balfour and he is innocent. When the trial starts everyone will know the truth! Until then stop codemming an innocent until proven guilty people!
