Designers' sketch ideas for Barack Obama's inaugural wardrobe
Everyone knows President-elect Barack Obama will wear a Hart Schaffner Marx single-button, notch-lapel tuxedo for Inauguration Night festivities.
But that didn't stop Women's Wear Daily from asking other menswear designers for their ideas.
Finally, a president it would be fun to dress!
With a lanky 6-foot, 2-inch frame, basketball-toned physique and sophisticated air, Barack Obama has all the makings of a presidential style icon, sez WWD.
See how Tommy Hilfiger, Brioni, Paul Smith, Zegna, Brooks Brothers, Elie Tahari, Nautica, Missoni, Sean John, Kenneth Cole, Rag & Bone and Dsquared would like to see Obama dress.
Just between us, we think Savile Row tailor Richard James' sequined tuxedo is a tad over the top.

Notably, no designers suggested a blatant red, white and blue patriotic tie (although Hilfiger's close with red and white stripe) or an American flag lapel pin.
Thank heavens those days are long gone!
