Will Smith's son Jaden Smith to be new "Karate Kid"

Jadensmith Will Smith's showbiz dynasty is taking over Hollywood.

Jaden Smith starred with his doting dad in "The Pursuit of Happyness" and he's also in the new sci-fi remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

Karate_kid Now he's putting on his brown belt for another remake. This time, it's an updated version of the 1984 film, "The Karate Kid."

And it turns out the role is tailor- made for him: He's already into martial arts!

Variety says the new KK will shoot in Beijing and other international cities.

But don't worry.

The plot will probably still be "Only the 'Old One' could teach him the secrets of the masters." And "He taught him the secret to karate lies in the mind and heart. Not in the hands."

Thankfully.

It would be horrible if they tried a new plot.

Wonder who will  play the late Pat Morita's mentor role? Any suggestions?

It sounds lame already. Please leave our youthful institutions alone you scientology freak...

Mr.Jaden Smith will do a great jobs on karate kid. owen wilson might will do perfect jobs in this movie.

My suggestion for the late Pat Morita's role in the new Karate Kid movie would be Don Cheadle. He is a brilliant actor!

The obvious choice for the sensei would be a serious Jackie Chan. But if that is too much of a stretch one could go with the inscrutable Cho Fat.

Why doesn't RM return, it would never be the same but i think he should. Saying that good luck to Jaden, if he's anything like his Dad (which i'd suspect he is) then we're in for something special. I hope, as KK1 is a classic.

No one suggested Ralph Macchio?

What a horrible idea. If you want to do a karate movie, that's great, but don't rip off a classic and call it by the same name. The lack of originality in Hollywood is nauseating.

I'm going to go against the type & suggest Lucy Liu or Sandra Oh.

Will Smith:

Everyone else gets their kids in. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't.

Bob

Shooting in Beijing? That's not really karate now, is it?

If they're going that way, might as well call on Jet Li.
