Jennifer Hudson kisses her mother goodbye
Jennifer Hudson kissed her mother for the last time during a private service for her murdered family members in Chicago on Monday.
The Oscar-winning actress spent a few moments at the caskets of her brother and nephew.
Then she gently touched the body of her mother before leaning down to kiss her, attendees told the Associated Press.
"American Idol" Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino sang the gospel classic "Your Grace and Mercy."
While singing, she walked over to Hudson, took her hand and sang directly to her.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley spoke at the service.
Afterward, a horse-drawn carriage led the procession to the Oak Woods Cemetery.
No one has yet been charged in the deaths of Hudson's relatives.
Police call Jennifer's brother-in-law, William Balfour, "a person of interest" in the case.

A recent "hot spot" in which a .45 ACP Sig Sauer demonstrated the "stopping power" of its combat pistol cartridge against a "human target" was a white Suburban SUV in Chicago's South Side. We don't know whether that particular Sig Sauer P220 .45ACP semiautomatic pistol was "right out of the box." But we do know that it was accurate enough to shoot a 7-year old child to death –Julian Hudson, Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson's late nephew. Three rounds, including one to the head, were enough "stopping power" to do the job of killing a child in that "hot spot."

i am very much saddened this and can't imagine what jennifer must be going thru. however, how is the gun manufacturer accountable? the brother in law did it, he could very well have used a knife, some blunt object, etc. let's not make this a gun control issue, please.
I didn't bother to read this article. I just wanted to blog and say that the media has become the biggest slimeballs in the world. You couldn't even give this family privacy at this time. I hope someday a puke like you exploits your pain.
