Eddie Van Halen, 53, proposes to his publicist Janie Liszewski, 38, and she gets the announcement in People!

He reportedly asked the former actress-stuntwoman-publicist on their Hawaiian vacation in a private room at Tiffany's, where -- and I'm going out on a limb here -- I'm guessing they were ring shopping?

Wonder if she'll get paid extra when she sells their wedding photos to the rag mags too? Or their honeymoon?

Is this the ultimate double-dipping celebrity PR scam of all time or are they truly in love?

They plan to marry next June, with plenty of time to arrange for all those wedding freebies, designer gown, flowers, rings, honeymoons that will of course be mentioned in the many articles about the blessed event.

His divorce from Valerie Bertinelli was final in December 2007, the year he got a publicist who helped promote the successful Van Halen Reunion Tour.

Congrats, guys. I hope you're very happy together because if you're not, I know we're gonna hear about it.
