DJ AM and Travis Barker escaped inferno, patted out each other's flames
Members of DJ AM's and Travis Barker's family are heading to Georgia to be with the injured young men, according to MTV. They are being treated in a burn unit in Augusta, Ga.
According to TMZ, Barker sustained severe burns from the waist down. DJ AM suffered facial burns.
An eyewitness told NBC affiliate WIS that he saw a fireball, realized it was a plane, saw jet fuel shoot out across the road and then saw two men, who were both on fire, patting each other down to extinguish the flames.
These men were later confirmed to be DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) and Barker.
The crash happened before midnight on Friday. A twin-engine private Learjet with six passengers onboard never left the ground, overran the runway, struck an antenna array and several lights, and began sending up sparks. To see a video of the crash site, click here.
After skidding off the end of the runway, through a perimeter fence between the airfield and a roadway, the plane crossed the roadway, stopping on an embankment.
It caught fire on impact. Two passengers - later confirmed to be AM and Barker - escaped the plane but the other two passengers and crew members died in the crash.
Us Magazine reports that AM was put in a doctor-induced coma and will undergo skin grafts.
He was conscious long enough to call his mother from the ambulance to tell her about the accident.

My thoughts & prayers are w/ Travis Barker & Family, as well as DJ AM & Family. I was at the Augusta Burn Unit less than 2 years ago with family after my mother was in a fire. It is a scary place, where no one ever wants to go. God Bless them both from South Carolina.
God be with both of these men and their families. I'm praying for both of them. It's a tragedy that this kind of thing happen to anyone. God give them strength and God rest the souls of those four who lost their lives in the crash as well.
Very tragic and sad that lives were lost. But good that DJ AM and Travis B. are both alive. Everyone pray for them and their families.
My family and I want to express our sadness to all the families involved. Also the greatfulness we feel that 2 very talented mens have been blessed to stay in this world. Travis Barker is one of our favorite Entertainers, we have been fans for a long time. We wish all the families all the best we can in such a hard time. Travis & Adam we hope you recover quickly and with as little pain as possible. May God be with you!

Awful reminder that life is precious and each day is a gift. Hopefully both of these guys recover, physically and emotionally.
www.wistv.com has several news stories ...one in particualar is a story/video from the witness of the horrible Barker/Goldstein plane wreck, the video shows him recounting the scene, he says they were "miraculously dumped out of the plane" on the highway and they were both standing watching the plane burn both saying
"OH "My" God,
OH "My" God!!!"
Maybe we will learn later how they feel about Jesus...
It seems that this may be God appearing in the tradegy saving them as "highlites" for our need for God in our lives to maybe sink in...maybe to cause more to think about their own mortality...God did not cause the accident...it is clearly Evil that caused the accident...you have to understand Scripture/the Bible to believe this...it is called FAITH...God in his Grace and Mercy spared the two men...Maybe to give them more time to CHOOSE HIM...before they die...Scripture clearly tells us that God will use what the enemy (Satan/Devil/Evil) intends for evil and turn it around and use it for his (God)Glory....meaning....are we not all talking about how they were spared...God is watching and hearing all of our responses and how we search our own hearts about death...If you really only give opinions on Jesus/God and don't really know a thing about Faith...you alone should read the New Testament and the whold Bible later to make sure you are Right with God...don't trust someone else to tell you if you don't really know what it says...it is that important...we all are going to die someday...
