The twins unpinned: Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen's big fashion feud
Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, 22, created two clothing lines, a couture collection called The Row and a less expensive line called Elizabeth and James.
But it sounds like their fashion business is suffering, because of their vastly different lifestyles.
"Ashley really wants to be a respected businesswoman and be taken seriously," a pal tells InTouch. "MK does too, but she hasn't been willing to give up her lifestyle and act like an adult for their job."
So Ashley is now distancing her twin from the couture line. She reportedly decided MK should not be involved with The Row and has asked her to step back from her current responsibilities "until she has her personal life together."
And that could be a while.
MK is left to focus on the cheap stuff, er, the more affordable line, Elizabeth and James, "It's tough because The Row was so much of Mary-Kate's idea. Mary-Kate has a unique fashion sense," notes the insider.
"I just see myself more as a business person," Ashley says.
Funny, we never really thought of them as having either a unique business or fashion sense, their empire handed to them when they came of age by crafty lawyers and managers.
Has anyone ever bought the Olsen twins' clothes? I confess, I have not.
Photos: Maybe MK could follow former party girl Nicole Richie's example and start a new family. That seems to have straightened up Nicole's life pretty fast. Wonder if they talked about that at the Proenza Schouler show during NY Fashion Week.

Actually alot of stars both buy and wear the elizabeth and james line. The line is very popular. Before you bash someone check your facts first.
They are fraternal twins, not identical. Again with the fact checking...
Check your own facts Heather, they are identical twins. Fraternal twins could never get that close in physical resemblances without being noticed, which is why they were both used in the series Full House- because they were TWINS. Imagine that.
Samantha, they are indeed fraternal twins. It means they don't have identical DNA, it has nothing to do with how close they look to each other. I know sisters who look identical yet are a couple of years apart. Check your facts and maybe learn some science too. If you look at their website they even say they are fraternal twins.

Brent, this article did not bash nor say that Elizabeth and James line was unpopular. It stated simply that it was cheap and affordable. People buy cheap and affordable things.... even stars. WOW WHAT A CONCEPT... stars buying items that normal people buy.
And really people, it was a simple mistake.. fraternal or identical big freakin deal. Get off yourall's high horse.
Of course they're identical. Don't be daft. Ask them for a DNA test.
