Barack Obama asks Jennifer Hudson to sing the National Anthem
Barack Obama has asked "American Idol" contestant and Oscar-winning "Dreamgrls" actress Jennifer Hudson to sing at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
According to "Access Hollywood," Obama asked Hudson to sing the National Anthem on Thursday night when he formally accepts the party's nomination.
Wow. That's pretty big. It's bound to be a moving moment for everyone there and a huge moment in American history. I'm keeping Kleenex on hand.
Congrats, Jennifer!
On top of this, her debut album, "Jennifer Hudson," comes out Sept. 30.
And her new film, "The Secret Life of Bees," opposite Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys and Dakota Fanning, is in theaters Oct. 17.

Terrible choice. Obama could have picked someone that would have worked for his image. Hudson is cool, but the wrong choice.
I'm proud of you JHUD...You're constantly making history, I remember you said you're careful of what you ask for because your dreams are coming true. Sing that song with class & sophisication becasue we know not everyone can appreciate your soulful voice. I'm a huge fan of yours and our future PRESIDENT must be as well. I saw your clip on ET where you said you wanted to sing for him and its happening.....CONGRULATIONS on your success.
