Post-vegan cleanse, Oprah eats her way through Italy
The British papers are having a field day with photos of Oprah Winfrey eating and drinking while vacationing in Italy.
And they can't help point out that she's packing in the pasta and packing on the pounds, after her recent self-imposed 21-day vegan detox cleanse inspired by "Quantum Wellness."
OK, so she looks a little heftier than she did, above, at "The Great Debaters" premiere in December 2007.
But leave our O-Win alone! Can't a girl unlax and enjoy her European vacation?
Everyone puts on weight on a vay-kay, right?
I've never known anyone to lose any on a trip to Italy.

Why doesn't Oprah just claim she's "big boned"?
She needs to visit France afterwards. Tiny portions, and you walk everywhere. Perfect way to lose weight.
Who cares if she's gained weight? Actually, it's much more disgusting that she learned nothing from her "cleanse". This "cleanse" is merely a healthy lifestyle. Coincidentally I personally adhere to all but two of it's "rules", (no sugar and no gluten) but I don't feel as though I'm on a "cleanse" because I avoid all alcohol, caffeine and animal products. I actually choose to not consume them, and it's not even a big deal to me. Yeesh, people are such babies.
Who cares that Oprah gained weight? It was on the news!
We are just ridiculous.
How come all eyes shift towards the heavyset woman when she starts to lift a fork to her lips yet turn their heads when a waif is eating the same dish? Big boned vs. a God given fast metabolism? Sloth and weakness? Complete loss of willpower and a total lack of discipline around food? Those who suffer a glandular disorder such as Oprah (thyroid to be exact) understand well that weight loss is nothing short of a Sisyphean task. Are we so shallow that we have to liken a heavy woman to a 'Godzilla' like creature who terrorizes and 'eats her way' through the world? Think about it...Men are the ones saying "no fat chicks" and we are the total morons buying into that lie....
