John McCain's new ad compares Barack Obama to Paris and Britney: low blow or right on?

Talk about name calling and mud-slinging.

The new John McCain-approved, anti-Barack Obama TV commercial puts the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee in the same league as sex-tape socialite Paris Hilton and head-shaving pop star Britney Spears.

And it calls Obama "the biggest celebrity in the world," and asks if that's enough to qualify him to lead this country.

OK, now the presidential race is really getting ugly. And it's so early for these kinds of tactics.

Is this all ya got, Johnny boy?

But I bet Paris and Britney are flattered to be in Obama's company.

What do you think? Is McCain on the money or out of his mind? Will Obama be furious or flattered?

Who are you gonna vote for, after seeing this ad?

Its sad to see McCain and his team going negative with their latest ads-

It would be like us say

McCain/Bush/Cheney/Rove/Bullet

Come to think of it isn't it Bush's team running McCain's Campaign now?

Issues We care About!

The Republicans and the Bush administration should be held accountable not only for the cost of the Iraq War but the 492 billion dollar deficit.

- Part of the cost are the 30,000 USA Troops wounded.

-Start laying the groundwork to move the the US away from oil dependency.

As soon as the 2008 election is over The Republicans will start running for the next elections in 2010 and 2012. This is the reason gridlock doesn't help this country.

The Republicans as a group should "pay a price" for the Gridlock.

Obama '08

Ha ha, John McCain actually thinks Americans will gladly give up their country's beautiful beaches to save a few pennies at the pump!

No, really, is that all you got, John? Britney and Paris? Seems more like your intellectual level than Barack's, who is a graduate of Columbia and Harvard.

Keep em coming Johnny. We the people of the world shall watch you sail, out the park. Home-run all the way, to the White House.

The world will respect America then, not fear us, respect US.

Elizabeth. why do you call this "name calling" and "mudslinging'? Saying that denigrates both Britney and Paris. By the way ... I don't know for sure ,,, but I would consider Britney and Paris (probably Britney more) more real than Obama. At least Britney kept her babies. Obama has unabashedlly stood for abortion on demand. How many partially delivered black fetuses will never get the chance to run for POTUS or even vote?

McCain's got nothing positive to say about himself so all he can do is attack Obama. How far you have fallen oh Johnny boy and to think that we used to respect you. What a sell out.

Disgusting.

Let me preface my comment by saying that I am a democrat...

With that said, I tend to agree with John McCain. I'm so sick and tired of being at the check out stand of my local grocery store and seeing my party's presidential nominee -- and possibly the future president of the US -- VOLUNTARILY on the cover of tabloid magazines. First Us Weekly and now People?

Purposefully or not, he has set himself up for such criticisms as McCain's. What's next? Paparazzi pics of him and his wife vacationing in St. Tropez with Jay-Z and Beyonce? Pap pics of them at the America's Best Dance Crew season finale? Drinks at Goa with LC and Audrina? Front row at Fashion Week at the Marc Jacob show between P.Diddy and the Beckhams?

You're an elected official, not a reality TV star!!! Get to work!!!

no, obama is actually a celebrity for a reason; he's running for president. McCain on the other hand, just jumped the shark. This almost goes up with Bob Dole''s election even pondering about why american voters are so stupid.

SInce McCain has decided to bring these celebrities into the discussion, I took a look at some celebrity photos of McCain, Obama, Spears and Hilton. In the celebrity realm, physical appearance is very important, and is therefore fair game for comment.

To my eyes, McCain and Spears actually have a lot in common in the arm-length department. I do agree with McCain that by this one morphological criterion Hilton and Obama are similar.

The comparison hurts because it's right on. I hope this is a wake up call to all those who admire Mr. Obama with star struck drooling teenage adulation. Mr. Obama is very charismatic so the adoration is understandable but it's a silly way to pick a president and will have consequences. Those who vote for Mr. Obama will deserve him as a leader. Mr. McCain may not be sexy but he is a man of proven self sacrificing integrity and honor.

Well, Edgy, if it weren't for he and his wife's "celebrity" appearances on talk shows and in tabloids, a good portion of America wouldn't give a second thought to the election, or the candidates' positions. He's a smart man to come down to the intellectual level of today's Americans; doesn't make it a decent thing to do for McCain to lash out against him for it. If anything, I think this will turn more people against McCain, and rightfully so.
