MSNBC reporter calls Spike Lee 'uppity'?

I'm sure by now you've all heard about the war of words between directors Spike Lee and Clint Eastwood over the lack of black actors in Eastwood's WWII film "Flags of Our Fathers." If not, click here.

But am I going crazy or did an MSNBC reporter seriously describe Spike Lee as "uppity"? Click here to see if I'm not hearing things.

This, according to Gawker, came from the same correspondant -- Courtney Hazlett -- who remarked after Heath Ledger's death in January, "We almost had a dress rehearsal for this with Owen Wilson."

Oh. My. God. Twice.

Here's the Courtney Hazlett issue addressed interestingly in a new YouTube video titled "The Problem with Uppity." Definitely one of Oprah Winfrey's finest film moments.

Who knew O had such a right hook?

Honestly, Ms. Snead; YOU are one to talk! This from someone who implied that a woman's miscarriage "may have been a blessing" (for which you have yet to apologize or even acknowledge). I'm not defending Courtney's remarks, but perhaps you should take a look back at some of your own comments before you criticize another journalist for an off-the-cuff remark.
