St. John drops Angelina Jolie as its model
Design house St. John just jettisoned Angelina Jolie as its celebrity model.
Jolie appeared in the print ads shot by Mario Testino for the past three years for an estimated $12 million. Angelina without a fashion contract? Oh no.
But no hard feelings. Four new models will be used, no notable names yet. New CEO Glenn McMahon says, "It was time to do something new and different."
Does that mean more interesting, exciting, energizing photos that actually make women want to buy and wear your clothes, as opposed to just cursing themselves for not looking like the incredibly gorgeous Ms. Jolie? Most of the ads showed little to no St. John clothes at all. What's that about?
Just a thought.

because she has a bad reputation and St. John is very well known for the reputation, class and sharpness of personality and femenist of it but with AJ they were so wrong to get her to endorse their couture because AJ doesn't have it at all....
Nothing bad about her reputation. That's why they paid her $12million over 3 years because of her bad reputation. obviously logic and sense does not run in your family. ad campaigns always end. it's the nature of advertising.
Please. Jolie not only increased St. Johns appeal to the non-matronly but she got their name more press in 3 years than they've had in their entire existence. And for the record St. Johns PROFITES INCREASED BY OVER $400 MILLION WITH JOLIE AS THEIR SPOKESMODEL. So good lukc to St. Johns now that they've parted company. Let's see how good their profits are after Jolie. Lord knows the company was certainly n the tank when they hired her.
As much as I like Jolie, it seems that she wasn't a good ambassador for the company. There were very few ads and I can only remember her wearing St. John's clothing maybe twice.
