Is John Mayer too-too friendly with the paparazzi?
Does John Mayer's perpetual palling around with the paparazzi remind you of anyone?
Like ... maybe Britney Spears?
Ya gotta admit that Mayer's symbiotic relationship to the paps is strangely similar to what Britney's used to be. Although he hasn't dated one. Yet.
John never misses the opportunity to play around -- in a kind of improvisational street-theater manner -- with the camera dudes, once pretending to talk on his cellphone about a itchy rash while they filmed him. The paps even give the singer presents! And he once took money from them (probably a joke, but still).
He also gets tattoos, dates famous (Jessica Simpson, Minka Kelly, now Jennifer Aniston?) foxes, poses in a skimpy "Borat" bathing suit (best seen from behind), and was just seen this week on TMZ's TV show getting popped for driving an unregistered vehicle, and then again running with paps at his side.
He appears regularly on TMZ.com, makes fun of Ryan Seacrest, has a rambling blog as crazy as Courtney Love's (at least he uses spell check) and poses in skimpy "Borat" bathing suit. We're just saying...
Interestingly, his friendly pap rapport changes when he's with the decidedly un-pap-friendly Jennifer Aniston or seen leaving her home. Although the couple has been hitting pap-popular spots like the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Maybe one day Jen will learn to love the paps as much as John does.

John Mayer has working brain cells, so that's one difference. I don't find his blog to be "rambling" at all.
Britney spears was wacko-friendly with the paps...this dude is being a smart a_s, NOT friendly, as you naively put it.
When he's with the Aniston, he tries not to be goofy.
Totally,
I see it more as a way to deal with them in a way that he can handle, without sucking the humanity out of him and the people behind the cameras. Anyway though, I'm sure on some level he's comforted be the attention.
As far as the Borat swimsuit goes, John was not posing for the paparazzi. That photo was taken on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. The person who took the picture was a regular person who paid to be on John's cruise. Unfortunately, said person then decided to sell their photos. John can't be faulted for having a money-grubbing fan.
