Charlie Sheen is sorry for that vile voicemail. Really.

In the ongoing War of the Sheens, Denise Richards has released a curse-filled rant voice mail -- albeit a three-year-old curse-filled rant voice mail -- from her ex-husband Charlie Sheen calling her a ... well, some pretty foul names. And she is, after all, the mother of his two very young daughters, Lola and Sam.

Click here to see what he actually said.

And here's his response released in a statement late Wednesday: "I deeply apologize by my ...choice of words to all I have obviously offended; especially to Tony Todd, an African American, who was my best man at my first two weddings."

Sheen added, however, that "three and one-half years later, the reasons that caused the anger and frustration displayed on that voice mail continue to be manifested on a daily basis" because "my children did not show up today for a custodial visit without explanation."

Sheen has been in a bitter and very embarrassing public feud with Richards since they split in 2006.

OK, is it just me or do neither of these people seem like they are fit parents for these poor kids.

How about just putting Lola and Sam up for adoption? They'd have a better chance with a new family than being on Mommy's reality TV show or dealing with a nutter Dad, even if he is in recovery. In a way, it's sad these two broke up. They're so perfect for each other. They're both really attractive and completely INSANE.

And is anyone else thinking that this is all just a ploy to get ratings for "It's Complicated," Denise's reality TV show?

Elizabeth Snead is HOT! I would tear that up!

Thank God I don't have this job.

Is Denise Richards black?

Here we go again: the "N' word Walk of Shame. Well, if Chuck called Den a "n----r", then I think we can say that Mr. Sheen doesn't necessarily equate skin-color with the word. Maybe he just likes the guttural nature of the term when hurled as an insult. I'd even go so far as to say that he uses the term very much in the same way that African-Americans sometimes use it amongst themselves. I hope he refuses to do the Walk of Shame. People are going nuts over the use of the word and I can of like Lenny Bruce's take on it: take the power out of the word - he postulates ways that fall directly between subversively hysterical and tragically simple - and so that if it IS used, and I quote, "then you could never make some six-year-old black kid cry because somebody called him a ****** at school."

Elizabeth, you think you're qualified to judge Denise and Charlie as parents.

But look how clueless you are about the damaging psychological effects of removing children from their own homes and inserting them into the homes of complete strangers.

It's scary to me that you could even come up with such an idea.

If you really feel that strongly, then hike your fanny down to City Hall and start talking to some experts at Child Social Services and hear their opinion on the subject.

Dear Patricia,

Im sure you're completely right about removing children from their homes and placing them with strangers.

I may not be qualified to judge a lot of things - especially people i have not met -

but i think anyone who has watched Denise's reality tv show and reads the constant news of Charlie and Denise's public fighting is qualified to judge their parenting skills as being somewhat lacking.

I don't think I am alone in finding it sad that those kids are being used as weapons in their parents' ongoing and very public battles.

All we can learn from Charlie and Denise's example is what NOT to do to children during and after a divorce..

Elizabeth you are so right. Those poor kids suffer cause of their publicity ***** mother and nut job father.

I agree with you patricia the parents need to grow up but snead and others are perpetrating a form of social nazism. look in the miror people. nobodys perfect but you are much worse MYOB.

There's something too funny, though, about the "best man at my first two weddings" line.
