'American Idol' creator Nigel Lythgoe disses President Bush
"American Idol" creator Nigel Lythgoe didn't want President Bush to appear on the "Idol Gives Back" show.
Lythgoe has told OK! magazine that during the planning for the second annual "Idol Gives Back" fundraising special, which aired in April, America's biggest TV show had a serious spat with the White House.
He said that the show's producers were so disappointed with Bush's efforts to combat the poverty that the show was trying to relieve that they were simply embarrassed to have him on their show.
But Nigel says they relented under pressure from the Prez's peeps, and allowed him to speak during the star-studded broadcast.
"The President is always saying 'I want to be on [Gives Back]," said the Brit. "We didn't ask the President this year to say anything because we are all a bit embarrassed about him, and the office insisted that, because the [primary] candidates were on it, the President would like to come on and say 'thank you.' "

Should they have let that incompetent *** have some face time on Idol Gives Back? Absolutely not! They gave him too much as it is. I agree that the man is an absolute embarrassment and I can only hope he doesn't serve a day longer than Jan. 20, 2009, for the sake of the entire world. He is a menace.

No he should not have been invited to appear on Idol Give Back. He needs a program of his own and give back what he and his cronies have taken from the american people with this stupid war he needlesly involved us in. He hid all of his, his dads, Ronald Reagan's records in his Father's libarary for 50 years, now he needs to go hid his face forever.
Say what you want about President Bush one Iraq and domestic issues, but you can not take away the aid and services he has given to AIDS relief effort in Africa.
Well let's look at the facts, shall we?
According to the latest income tax returns, Bush made $719K last year, and gave $165K to church & charity = 22%.
Since leaving the White House, the Clintons had raked in $109 million, and gave 10% to charity - however half of that was to the Clinton Family Fund which only doles it out to proper liberal causes. Over the last several years, the Obamas have typically given less than 1% to charity. However since his run for the nomination, he has stepped that up to 6%.
If you mean Bush doesn't believe in stealing more money from other people via the government to give to those won't work, then you're absolutely right - Obama's your man for that.
If the show is so embarrassed about Bush, perhaps Simon and Nigel could show how much they have personally donated to poverty. This is taking into consideration the large amount of money they make in this country without being American citizens.
