Beyonce, Jay-Z wed! Beyonce 'bump watch' begins
Wedding bells really did ring yesterday for Beyonce and Jay-Z.
According to People.com, the small ceremony preceded Friday night's intimate reception at the groom's Tribeca loft, attended by her parents, Tina and Mathew, sis Solange, musical mates Kelly Rowlands, Michelle Williams and Beyonce's pal Gwyneth Paltrow.
Apparently, the wedding buzz began when the couple hit a Scarsdale city hall for a wedding license.
Yeah, that's usually a pretty good clue.
The marriage was certainly not a surprise. After all, the couple has been dating since 2002. But being together for 6 years in the entertainment world often means it's time for a breakup, not a marriage.
So why the secrecy? And why get hitched now?
Rumors about a possible pregnancy are starting to swirl. And,in retrospect, Beyonce has recently been dressing the way celebs do when they're trying to disguise a beginner baby bump.
First, there's the high-waisted dress, a ploy used by Jennifer Lopez early in her pregnancy. Beyonce wore a black high-waisted shirtdress (photo above, on right) to the NBA All Stars bash in New Orleans on Feb. 16.
Then there's toting a big purse like Nicole Richie did for a few weeks, and wearing a trench coat, Angelina Jolie's favorite cover-up during her first pregnancy. Beyonce did both the big bag and the trench in the photo above (on left) taken on Feb. 20 in New York.
Hey, I'm just saying ...
Maybe now is a good time to start the 'Beyonce bump watch.'
