Are Beyonce and Jay-Z pulling a J. Lo and Marc?

Did they or didn't they?

Bizarrely, while onstage Saturday for the "Heart of the City" tour in Greensboro, N.C., Jay-Z made no mention of his Friday marriage to Beyonce. And he wasn't even wearing a ring!

Headliner Mary Blige did give the couple a congratulatory shout-out of sorts.

But there still has been no confirmation from either's reps. "Has there been an official confirmation of the wedding?" asked Ryan Seacrest at Sunday night's "Idol Gives Back'" taping, when he was prodded by "Access Hollywood" for for his reaction to the nuptials. To which "Idol" judge Randy Jackson replied, "Who cares? I'm sending them congratulations anyway!"

Did the marriage really happen? Or was it just an elaborate ruse?

What do you think? Was the wedding real or just an episode of Ashton Kutcher's new show, "Pop Fiction," which lets celebrities fool the media with expensive and outrageous pranks, aided by the show's network, E! Entertainment Television?

But pretending to become spiritual with a fake guru, the way Paris Hilton did, is not the same thing as pretending to get married. That's going a bit too far. Although some folks suspect that Paris and Benji's "romance" is just another skit for the "Fiction" show.

I just don't think Jay-Z and Beyonce are the kind of stars who would stoop to such self-promotional shenanigans. Besides, a wedding is a pretty serious thing! So I'm with Jackson: Here are my CONGRATS to the happy couple.
