Peggy Sue got sorry: Nic Cage didn't drive drunk or steal a dog!

Nicolas Cage settled his libel lawsuit against Kathleen Turner in a London court.

His beef?

That she falsely claimed in her autobiography, "Send Yourself Roses," that he was arrested for DUI and did something terrible to a Chihuahua during the filming of "Peggy Sue got Married."

Nic's public statement at the time: "I have never been arrested for anything in my life, nor have I stolen a dog. I am reaching out to my fans -- many of whom are children -- so they know that I do not condone drunk driving or theft. The reason why you've never seen a mug shot of me is because it does not exist."

Turner's lawyer, her book publisher and the Daily Mail did an "our bad' and promised to make a hefty donation to the charity of his choice. Cage reportedly chose one that helps the victims of elder abuse.

Wait, does that mean people who are attacked and mauled by vicious old people?
