What is Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's CD? (celebrity discount)
It's pretty common for stars to get free stays at hotels and resorts around the world. Or at least sizable celebrity discounts.
Usually, hotels want bragging rights to say that the likes of Michael Douglas, Johnny Depp, Eva Longoria Parker, Jennifer Lopez or Leonardo DiCaprio (well, maybe not Eva Longoria Parker) stayed there.
A celebrity's stamp of approval is great PR for a hotel. Just like in the olden days, when inns and boarding houses would put up signs that read, "George Washington slept here."
So how much would it be worth to a Texas resort to be able to say "Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (and their entire family) stayed here"?
Not as much as you'd think.
According to the Scoop on MSN, the production company for the film "Tree of Life" (Pitt stepped into Heath Ledger's role) made a low-ball offer on accommodations at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and Spa near Austin.
The offer was $3,000 for an entire MONTH'S stay in the Litton House, a 2,600-square-foot residence on the Lost Pines property that goes for $2,000 per night. Anyway, the resort balked. Click here for details!
Apparently, the budget for "Life" isn't very big, and most of the cast is staying in rented homes near Smithville, Texas.
I wonder if there are enough policemen in Smithville -- heck, in all of Texas -- to protect an ordinary house from the paparazzi! Brangelina needs security, people! Like observation cameras, paparazzi-sniffing dogs and armed guards wearing night-vision goggles! This couple needs to stay someplace safe, like a Hilton resort. The only safe house for them would be the White House!
But don't be surprised if you read about Jolie doing a big fundraising event on the Hilton property. At least, that's what a source told the Scoop.
Hey, that's gotta be worth at least a month's stay, right?

Just more tabloid lies. True story here:
Perhaps the craziest lie picked up around the world is that Pitt offered the Hyatt Lost Pines only $3,000 a month to stay in the $2,000 a night Litton House. Do you think Brad, Angie and the kids would check into a hotel, where the paps could also get rooms? The plan was always to rent a secluded house near Smithville.
