Has Marion Cotillard destroyed her Hollywood careeer? Or cinched it?
Marion Cotillard has totally gone Hollywood.
A year-old interview with the Oscar-winning actress has surfaced in which she states her conspiracy theories about the destruction of the Twin Towers. Click here to read and hear the interview.
Some critics are sniping that she's ruined her Hollywood film career. Hah. Sounds to me as if she's cinched it. And that's what I just told a reporter from Agence France-Presse who called for my reaction to the scandale!
First off, this country was founded on the right to free speech. And Hollywood is a big supporter of free speech. We gave Michael Moore an Oscar, for crying out loud!
Plus Hollywood loves a good conspiracy theory. Look at Oliver Stone's controversial conspiracy films "JFK" and "Nixon," before he drank the Kool-aid and made "World Trade Center." Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman starred in one of the greatest conspiracy films ever made, "All the Presidents' Men."
OK, Mel Gibson is a conspiracy theorist who has made enemies and hurt his film career. But even Rosie O'Donnell has spoken about her lingering questions over the 9/11 attacks, what we knew and when we knew it. And we still love that big old outspoken broad!
Marion will fit in just fine in Hollywood. After all, this isn't Kansas.

Kudos, Marion, for realizing that not everything that the nation is expected to believe is true!
LEAVE HER ALONE. She can think what she wants about 9/11, as we all do. SHE IS A GREAT ACTRESS, thats what matters.
Leave her alone! It's called freedom of speech, something a newspaper should champion not condemn. What is this, 2002?
And let's not forget Tom Cruise who touts a religion claiming to be founded by a space alien. I think Ms. Cottilard is among the more normal of the gliteratti.
A pretty white woman can get away with it...however, people of other colors and religions cannot. And I'm not sure why Maggie Gyllenhaal was hounded when she brought up U.S. policies in relation to the attacks. But then she hadn't just won an Oscar. Hypocrisy masquerading as "free speech."
Yes, she can say whatever she wants, and Hollywood is welcome to her. Will she sell to the rest of America? I don't believe so.
"First off, this country was founded on the right to free speech. And Hollywood is a big supporter of free speech"
Laughable ! Say that to Mel Gibson !!!!
I agree. Leave her alone. Exactly, her comments are basically saying you can't believe everything that you read! Simple as that. No anti-anything here.
Luv ya Marion! Leave the beautiful girl alone!
Elizabeth Snead... you may have just sealed your own fate as well. lol... You seriously misinterpret MOVIE-GOERS. SHE IS FINISHED and so shall you be if you are not more careful. There is no excuse for this, no 'context' that is not pure stupidity. She will always have a career but it will be amongst NOBODIES. As for good movies in America, SHE IS DONE and you are hot on her heels. You should've been smarter than to write this but I know you wanted to and I know THEY turned to you to do it to get attention. Sadly it may mean the end of your upward mobility very soon. You are a SUCKER and will soon feel the wrath of TRUE SPEECH. I cannot believe Hollywood is gonna sink so far as to approve or REWARD this foolishness. You are the biggest sucker of all however for thinking they did not pick you or your 'story' in order to make a quick buck. They will spit you out when nobody ever wants to hear your mouth again. See ya in the monthly college mags on the back page. Rosie O'Donnell is already an after-thought who can only hold an audience as dumb and bitter as herself. Still, I gotta give ya credit for seeming to be on the side of STUPIDITY yet not actually stating a belief. I imagine that is easy for someone who believes in NOTHING. Am I wrong? Write me.
I think she's chinced her Hollywood career for:
*It's true, people attacking her, but she has a lot of defenders to the attacks and remember it's not 2002-03
*People love the polemic and almost the same time sells...
*Vanessa Redgarve, Mel Gibson, Johnny Depp and Dixie Chicks suffer until the next sucess.
*Maggie Gyllenhaal and Charlie sheen said worse coments
*She doesn't need hollywood to make a star. Binoche, Blanchett, Bardem...
*In Hollywood about the ten past winners:
-Curse: Hunt, Paltrow, Swank, Berry and Witherspoon
-Limbo: Roberts, Kidman and Theron
