Marion Cotillard won! C'est magnifique!
"La Vie En Rose" star Marion Cotillard had a sweep similar to Helen MIrren's 2007 grand slam for her role in "The Queen."
If anyone hasn't seen this film, NetFlix or rent it asap! Only then will you understand how astonishing her role is. Even George Clooney called this the performance he would be happy to lose to (and he sorta did !)
Marion was also astonishing on the Oscar carpet today in Jean Paul Gaultier's mermaid gown and Chopard jewelry. All French, of course.

The most deserving Oscar ever to Mademoiselle Cotillard! She gave the most incredible performance ever captured on film in La Vie en Rose, inhabiting the role of Edith Piaf throughout her adult life, in effect playing four different roles in one movie. I watched the film again hours before the Oscar telecast with my husband and children, and was moved just as dramatically the first time I saw it. Shattering the pundit predictions and breaking the ethnocentric barriers, Marion Cotillard's win was an Oscar highlight not just for this year but of all the Academy Awards I have ever watched. And she tops if off with the most moving acceptance speech of the night and then graciously serenading the backstage press with Piaf's Padam. Bravo, Marion Cotillard!
