No A-list designer for Julie Christie!

"Away From Her" Oscar nominee Julie Christie is a true '60s Hollywood fashion icon.

And Friday night was no exception. The lady wore tousled  hair, gold filigree hoop earrings, a classic white shirt, khaki slouch jacket, black jeans and a bright orange scarf to her honors at the slightly drizzly Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

And what will she wear to the Oscars?

"No big number, nothing special, no designer names," she told a reporter.  No couture? Cool! Now there's a '60s-style anti-establishment fashion statement!

And what will she be doing between now and the Oscars?

"I hope to disappear for a while," the limelight-shunning British actress said before going inside to talk about her life and career with Leonard Maltin in front of a packed house.

She's still our "Darling!"
