Nikki's bolero, Drew's medal of honor, Vanessa's LBD and Halle's baby trapeze
With the Globes and the Oscars still up in the air, the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals may be the only places to see international designer couture this year. Click HERE to read about this newest style shift.
But this week, the only fashion fix available was at Saturday night's Palm Springs International Film Festival's Awards. More pictures from the show here.
So why did "Hairspray" star Nikki Blonsky pull a Jennifer Hudson and wear a clunky bolero? Did she not read all the negative fashion feedback? Or did Andre Leon Talley style her too?
Drew Barrymore's Gucci Resort '08 dress was cute and slimming, but it kinda looked like she'd just been awarded the French Foreign Legion's Medal of Honor.
"Juno" star Ellen Page's gray silk dress (with red heels and matching purse) is just not a good length on her. She should go longer or shorter. This below-the-knee hem makes it look like she's playing dress up in her mom's closet.
"La Vie En Rose" actress Marion Cotillard's Chanel Spring '08 nude sparkly sheath is a sure sign that she's gonna wear Chanel through the season.
"Hairspray" hottie Brittany Snow and HSM2's Vanessa Hudgens played it way too safe with strapless black dresses. Yawn.
But Halle Berry looked the best of all the babes in a swingy Temperly black trapeze dress with gold embroidery. And she's six months pregnant!
Who's your pick for best dressed at the PSIFF? Tell me in the comments.

I think Drew Barrymore deserves a medal of honor, thus... her attire looks apropos.
yeah, that dress looks awful on Ellen Page. I think she should wear her Hard Candy outfit everywhere. The red hoodie is very flattering.
Halle looks fab.
Nikki is short and chunky. I forgive the bolero; she's just working with what she's got.
