Sad about the Globes? Some parties will go on!

Here's a video that reveals how some stars at last night's Critics Choice Awards feel about the demise of the 2008 Golden Globe Awards.

After the news broke yesterday that the Globes will be downsized to a glorified press conference, the pre and post-parties also started dropping like flies!

NBC/Universal/Focus has nixed its rooftop bash. Ditto the Instyle/WB official Globes party. HBO has cancelled plans for a Saturday night bash at the Chateau Marmont and the post party around the pool. Harvey Weinstein, however, may have a small private bash at Ago on Saturday night. Universal is still having a no press-allowed party that night at Spago. 

And there's another party left standing: BAFTA/LA's annual Tea Party, being held this year at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Saturday afternoon (2-5 pm). "I've been fielding requests all morning," the party pr rep told me this afteroon. "Ive gotten a lot of media requests. But so far, I don't have a confirmed guest list for the talent."

Finally, a red - albeit, petite - carpet! Will stars with designer gowns getting all dusty want to get dolled up for a good old fashioned British tea party? They could always make it a pit stop by on their way to the Universal bash, Harvey's affair or the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards being held Saturday night at the Intercontinental in Century City.
