Teri's modeling career takes off

Why did Teri Hatcher walk the "Resurrecting the Champ" red carpet Wednesday night like it was a designer's catwalk?
Because the new Badgley Mischka spokesmodel may have been modeling a Grecian-inspired silver cocktail dress from the designers' Fall/Winter 07 line. She even gave photographers a good rear view. But now comes a report that this dress may be from Iceberg. Never fear, an investigation will be launched!
Reportedly, she ran into Mark Badgley and James Mischka on the "American Idol" carpet back in May and reminded them that she'd worn one of their gowns to the Emmys back in 1995. So they wisely hired her as their new fashion face. Past B&M ad models have included the vampy trampy Sharon Stone and, bizarrely, those trendy little troll dolls Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Turns out this dress is right in step with the Emmy fashion predictions. Fashion insiders say metallics -- gold, bronze, silver -- are gonna be all over the TV awards red carpet. And if this is any indication of what to expect Sept. 16, we're already getting excited.

I'm glad for Teri, at least she has a backup if the acting gig doesn't work out. But what I don't understand is why these designers & cosmetic co's from Avon to Chanel think that we, the lowly consumer is going to follow an actress to the cosmetic counter. Take for instance, Paltrow. She's the worse endorser for a product I've ever seen. She seems so smug and could care less about her gig as rep for Estee. Why wouldn't Estee just hire a regular plain model - beautiful girl and let her rep Estee's line? It worked before didn't it? I don't buy something because an actress' face is on it (oh maybe Halle Berry & Revlon), honestly. I'm looking at customer reviews....for example I recently bought Avon lipstick based on a 5 star review. Actresses will not lead me to the cosmetic counter.
Good for her! I'm happy for Teri. Its nice that someone thinks she is worthy of being their spokesmodel! The pics looks great too.
The buzz from DH and her huge comeback have now died down considerably - she really does look desperate - such a pity. Yep when all else fails take your clothes off.
It's amazing what a good stylist, hair and makeup team can do...and a good airbrusher.
